Gas isn't a reason to sell your car. We already get great gas mileage as it is.

I heard about some crazy prices down there for some reason..

Dont sell your car, just ride a bike or get ride when ever you can. and just dont go drive around for no reason. I also noticed you drive your car very easy, you get a hella better gas milage.

i know, i get great mileage. since ive started college, i just dont think ill need to use it that often. plus, i really want a sportbike biggrin.gif, and the gas is just another thing that makes me want one even more... and because there quite a bit faster than my car.

Sigh.

As discussed numerous times, you guys wouldn't know expensive fuel if a tanker load of it ran you over,

I'm now paying a pound a litre.

Or, in US speak, damn near $7 a gallon.

I have been know to turn in sub 10mpg.

So really, from the bottom of my heart. Quit the whinging.

It's around 3.10 in my area. I heard Governor Wise, the governor of WV, said gas prices around here should be 2.75, and he's going to take action against gas stations that go to much higher than this. I hope this isn't a rumor. It's not just the lack of gas that's making it go up, it's greedy people who are capitalizing on tragedy.

Let me guess you make about 300 to 500 quid a week also.
I don't know much about the UK but my secretary worked in a nursing home in Port Lincoln, Au as an aide and made around $50,000 USD a year, but also consider the average American family pays between $400 to $1,000 a month in medical insurance where aussies get free medical, plus we rent our land from the governement regardless if we have the deed or not, skip a taxation and it's all gone, so yeah you pay a lot in petrol (even though it's only about $2 USD, the rest is tax) consider the fact that it all gets evened out in the end. BTW as long as Venezuela is paying 12 cents USD a gallon (as of yesterday) everyone has the right to complain.

Now on to the subject it jumped to $2.99 but there isn't any fuel left here.

Also for Kadett, it's 6.48 USD or $103 for a full tank, but the UK is around 75 cents USD less per gallon so yeah the Netherlands owns everyone, but as before Europeans also make more than americans. Here's a link of gas around the world in USD:
http://money.cnn.com/pf/features/lists/global_gasprices/

Because in Europe, they don't have to pay for anything else. Read above post by darksecret. Also thought I would mention, due to admitions requirements in America we get worse gas mileage. And, we have to pay for car insurance. Which is about $1200 a year average.

Ha ha theres a station right near my house that's at 3.19 a gallon now, but not even 3 minutes down the road there's a BP station with 2.99 a gallon, and across from that a shell station with 3.09 a gallon...

Funny thing is, there were still cars at the 3.19 a gallon station

No. I make rather more than that as it happens. How is that relevent. I'd make more money if I moved to the US.

Because the bike is hard work at 70mph for 200 miles, and has limited load space.

Additionally, petrol is in my blood.

What on earth are you smoking dude? We pay for insurance as well, and I pay a lot more than 1200 bucks a year. We also have to pay 200 bucks a year to tax every car we own. I also pay 40% tax on what I earn, on top of national insurance and 17.5% tax on everything I buy.

The reason the US get apparent worse gas milage is because your gallons are smaller than ours.

Be glad you guys can find gas. Here in Baton Rouge you have to wait in line for about 30 min to get gas. Then when you get to the pump all they have left is premium. This hurricane is messing everything up. Baton Rouge doubled in population in two days. Everyone who evacuated from New Orleans is in Baton Rouge. Most gas stations dont have any gas left.

wow im irritated- bitching about gas when about a million people in the south have plenly lost , wether it be homes, jobs, ect.... The enconomy is going to take a big hit, if anybody hasnt realized yet, and in all honesty, gas prices her are still way lower than 90% of the rest of the world. Get over it... not only that, but owning a car in europe is WAYYYYY more expensive, long run, then here- esp. the U.K. I'd gladly pay 3.50 a gallon and not have to worry about the economy getting jacked over 10 BILLION in funds going to the south to repair what Katrina messed up... For real, dont go out to dinner those extra 2 times a month- now gas is back to normal... its not like we can control gas prices anyway... I hate how people just dont get the bigger picture. No, it's NEVER is going to go back down, so adjust while you can, people....

You know what really sucks? I have to come home to this. And, in Iraq you can fill an entire tank of gas for ONE American dollar. That's the blackmarket price, too, which raises it 6 times. Rediculous? I think so.

QUOTE(saleeka @ Sep 2, 2005 - 1:18 AM)
wow im irritated- bitching about gas when about a million people in the south have plenly lost , wether it be homes, jobs, ect....

I'm just worried about all the big businesses leaving new orleans. If they leave thats going to lower the average income and put this area in an even worse finicial state. Guess I need to finish school and start looking for a job elsewhere. Birmingham Alabama is nice....

I saw it go from 2.75 when I went to work at 7:30 to 3.31 when I came home for lunch at 11:30. Now that's just wrong. The highest price I've seen around here was the closer you got to the refineries, explain that one to me...

after reading this post, i think my area has one of the lowest prices. The lowest i saw today was $2.59 for 87 octane and $2.69 for 89 octane..pretty low considering it was up to $3.00 few weeks ago.
BTW i live in Kissimmee FL, right next to Orlando

Yeah Orlando has always been good about having cheap gas, when I moved from Charlotte there everything was cheaper except cigarettes.

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.

Got you guys all beat, we're not involved with the hurricane what-so-ever up here in Canada, but our gas jumped yesterday to $5.55/gallon (1.50/liter) it's ridiculous... ours hasn't gone down since katrina, we've always been more expensive than the states. i don't get it.

Lowest octane we get here in the UK is 95 which is currently 89p per litre (approx $1.70) my JDM GT4 has to run on 97RON or higher which has just dropped from £1.02 per litre (approx $1.95) so it costs me over $100 to fill my tank which last about 200miles, you think you guys have it bad wink.gif
Anyone want to swap??

That was only like 2 years ago, lol. I was talking to my dad about it and it's still ironic how gas went from 70 cents in the 70's to $1 in the '80's, $1.30 in the '90's to $3 since 2001.
