So far, the AVX2404 from Fujitsu Ten is the cheapest one, AVX2494 has a built-in 20GB hard drive, AVN5435 is with navigation built-in (which i don't need, but would be nice), and the 2 kenwoods are... umm.. has a nice brand name... confused.gif confused.gif

Which one would you get?

Both Kenwoods suck, i've used both and there horrible. ( pretty in store but in car its sucks.)

I'd go with either of the Eclipse's. You might also consider Pioneers D1 it aint bad.

Ive heard really good things about the kenwoods and from what little I have seen of them they look pretty cool. The built in harddrive sounds sick but movies take up quite a bit but MP3's would be awsome, and Navi is always fun.

I am picking up the Kenwood 717 for about 600$ and it seems a real good unit for that price, I plan on adding a TV tuner and Navi so total about 1200$ ish but its something ive always wanted so just splurgin.

i have a AVX2404 and its amazing for the money. if you dont want nav then its the way to go if you want nav then go AVN5435. I didnt really need the harddrive so i saved some money and am happy with the piece.

I think the Kenwood screen clarity is excellent in this year's line. The touch screen is also flawless with the Kenwood, yet I seem to still lean toward an Eclipse one if you're doing the double-din deal. Just my 2 pennies.

I know that if you get installed somewhere, BY LAW, they have to make it so you can't watch it while driving. On a manual transmission, they hook it to the e-brake, so it only works when the e-brake is engaged, you have to give that wire coming out of the DVD player constant + or ground (don't take my word, test your wires with a multimeter) so the DVD Player will think the E-brake is always engaged. Not sure how to do it on an auto.

I'm not sure which one you connect it to, either a 12+ Switched such as the remote turn on output, or a ground. Again, don't take my word for it, I'm not sure if it's + or -

you also have to be careful because you cant just ground out the e brake wire on most navigation units anymore since they have their motion sensor gyro in there where not only will it sense if ur in park, but also if you are moving. the pioneer is friggin awesome, and has great capabilities, but it wont play dvd's if you want a screen with navagation and also wanna connect like ur ps2 or xbox, go with the pioneer if you only care about the dvd and somewhat the navigation, the eclips is fine, but the kenwoods have really fallen off
