Ahhhyes, here is the situation.....

If I get good grades, my parents will get my car fixed (all the dents and stuff) and get a paint job on my car. Right now my car is silver and I like it but I was wandering if anybody thinks there is a color that looks better than silver on a 6gc.

Yeah, Black is the best biggrin.gif . But silver is good also. What are you planing to do with it, bodykit? for a good job it wil cost up wards of 1500. Mine is costing me 1800 to have it completly repainted and the body kit put on.

Ahh there has been a new option added. My parents dont want me spending thousands of dollars on my car because I am only in 11th grade and they dont want me to get into debt and all that. They offered to buy me a car that is already hooked up IF I get good grades. And the 6gc will goto my dad.

I would stay away from buying a car thats already hooked up. Just do it yourself and take your time. Save up the money and then when you spend it on your car you will have something to show for all your hard work. Thats what I have done, yes it takes a while this way but you appreciate it more. I also am torn between spending more money on my car right now, I want to pick up flying more but you see with flying you really don't have anything to show for your work like a car.

The 3s-gte is a good idea but if I kept my car and didnt get a new car then my parents agreed to fix the stuff wrong with it and get a paintjob, and I dont think they would want to shell out an extra $5000? for a swap frown.gif

And I think I have came to a conclusion, I will keep the car I have and just save up, its not like I am in a hurry to get everything done to my car. As far as paint goes, is there any other shade of silver that looks good on a 6gc? If I dont get silver, I was thinking some kind of blue, like civic si blue, something like that. I have a friend of a friend that can give me a paintjob for around $700. I dont know how much it would be to fix the dent in the hood, door, and front passenger side.

I like metallic gunmetal-ish silver.......i need to get bodywork done to repair some small dings and dents myself. I got an estimate from a really good body shop, and they said that bodywork and full repaint (done very well and up to factory specs) would cost me about 2500-3000 frown.gif I also got a 1200 dollar estimate to just get the dents fixed and repainting of the panels, plus a clearcoat over the entire cars finish. So yeah, bodywork aint cheap......lol. But if youre parents are paying for it, then do it, and keep the Celica wink.gif

I'd say keep the Celica, and paint it maybe a gunmetal silver like Silver94CelicaOwner said if you're gonna stick with a silver-ish color. If you do that, your friend may be able to kind of fade the new paint into the old silver in places like the engine bay, so that it looks pretty good. wink.gif
