I would assume you meant sunroof to window wink.gif and this is for an alarm/keyless entry system, right ?

IMO, I think you need to have the module hooked up to a better (more consistant) power source and are you using a relay ?

yes that is what i meant and it is for alarm. i have the module connected to the windows and when the alarm gets armed it rolls up the windows and when i press the button they go down. i want that to happen to my sunroof as well. i might need another module for it but im not sure, i dont know which wires to connect the window up (close sunroof) and window down (open sunroof). also i want it to untilt if its tilted when the windows go up. i want it to open when the rest of the windows go down, and close when the go up, on armed. here is the wiring diagram for it

just to be clear, you are using the one module to put the windows up/down AND the monroof too ?

if so, you would need another module. I wouldn't reccomend having all of those functions on one module, it isn't designed to work that many options at once.

I think you will need to get another module for open/close and one for tilt up/down. I see no problem with it opening the roof, but closing the roof might be because of the built in saftey feature where the roof stops half way then you have to press the close button again.

Hanyo, where are you ????

haha, Thanks batman22 for asking for my help.

There has always been a problem with toyota sunroofs. When people install roll-up modules on the sunroof, it would vent the roof also. The module does not know when to stop.

Unless your willing to wire up some tricky wiring, its not possible.

on my module if it senses resistance it will stop, like if you put your hand in the way it will stop where it is so i thought that once it is open all the way that would be the resistance or closed all the way. that is how it senses that the window is all the way up or down isnt it. since all windows for diff cars are diff sizes.

i was going to buy a separate module

but the safety stop, is that in the module or has any one figured out how to get rid of that.

i also thought that maybe you could wire up the up and down to like the right window and the open close to the left window.

what do you think of that?????

From what i can tell, I would not deal with wiring up the sunroof to the alarm system. Because it deals with a computer that controls the sunroof motor. If you accedently mess up something, you can fry out the computer. That is a $150 unit if I remember correctly.

Another thing is, I dont think the sunroof motor can stop on its own. The motor will keep spining even after the roof is fully open, and this can burn out the motor.

You could wire up a series of extra switchs, but it would get messy.

Hanyo is the man wink.gif

but, some modules I have looked into only power for 30 sec...hence stopping the motor.

if the module stops powering then the motor wont run anymore, so would the roof being closed be enough to stop it like my hand in the way of the other windows. or when it is open all the way it wouldn't open any farther so there would be resistance which would stop the module right.

what brand and model unit are you using?
the DEI 529T will work best.
you can also use the DEI 530T but it has the extra output you will not need

I am at home right now but I will find out which wire you will need to tap into tomorrow when I get to work (I'm an installer biggrin.gif )
