I'm thinking of swapping the 1MZFE V-6 from a Camry including the auto into my new Celica. Call it the V-Celica. I'll keep it auto since it's going to be my wife's car and she wants auto, plus it's unique that way.

(ST 5spd is wat i have) wat ever tranny will hold a supachaga Okay well you're going to want an E153 then. At least you don't need the auto/manual conversion. I'm pretty certain that we can score a decent 1MZFE for around $600, installation will be $900, the tranny with the axles and mounts and other BS will probably be close to another $1000, add another $1000 for the odds and ends... $3500... dang, that's a pretty good price! It's because the 1MZ is easier to get and there's no intercooler stuff to deal with. The tricky part of it will be... a. finding a 5-speed 1MZ or b. making an auto 1MZ ECU happy with no auto tranny attached to it (doable) This post has been edited by Dr_Tweak: Sep 20, 2005 - 10:39 PM -------------------- -Dr Tweak, 6GC's resident engine swap wiring expert extraordinaire Click here to see my swaps drtweak@phoenixtuning.com |

wouldnt you guys think that the engine size would be a great dif in weight in the celi. Make it more nose heavy? It would prolly help a good bit for the traction issues, but for handling? Id still love to see it.

Found one on the first page of listings on car-part.com -- 1998 Camry V6 transmission with 89,000 miles for $1000. Admittedly, it was the only manual V6 I saw on that page, but that was one of 46 pages of 1998 Camrys. I didn't bother widening my search beyond that one year.
They are uncommon compared to the autos, certainly, but there were so bloody many Camry/Solaras put out... |

Its very possible, u just need the motor mounts of off the V-6 camry and put it into to your celica. Everything should bolt right up.
