you need to add a pin switch for the hood, there isn't a stock pin to splice into.

that is most likely an optional output (for window up/down modules, trunk popper, ect.)

any more ? wink.gif

it's pretty easy. It looks like this

and from the DIY network
QUOTE
Two of the wires from the receiver unit must be run forward from the passenger compartment and into the engine compartment. One attaches to a pin-switch (figure G), a safety feature that ensures that, whenever the vehicle's hood is up, the engine is prevented from being started with the remote-control transmitter. In that way, when checking or working on the engine, the vehicle can't be started inadvertently using the remote.

The switch can be mounted in a convenient location at the edge of the engine compartment so that the closed hood compresses the switch. When the hood is lifted, the switch-pin pops up and prevents the engine from starting. We fashioned a small metal bracket to simplify mounting the pin-switch (figure H).

Great alarms, but don't use a hood pinswitch. Ish...ish with a side of ish. As people have said so many problems with them breaking or not working...plus it doesn't work all that well considering you just need to have a screwdriver to hold it down while popping the hood. Way too easy to defeat. You're installing an alarm here so let's think that we want it to actually work and somewhat do what it's supposed to. Go buy a Mercury Switch from a local install shop or order one from the internet. As long as it's placed correctly and actually mounted stiff, it will work 100x better than a hood switch. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to do it correctly, so I'm sure you can handle it. And this way, you won't have to worry about replacing it down the road like a pinswitch that can either rust or break and it actually provides some kind of protection. Just my 2 pennies.
