I noticed I drive pretty crazy with my 130hp stock 5s-fe, would a 3s-gte really be a good thing? I have told my girlfriend about about having double the horsepower and she almost wants to cry in fear biggrin.gif

Yeah you'll be safe, just get it and give it to me.

In reality, don't drive like an a**hole and you should be alright.

lol. funny topic, but its amusing that its never really come up before. everyone is so busy planning their next move they don't take the time to think if they really want 220+ hp in a FF car w/o LSD. never driven a celi with 3sgte swap but I have a feeling it can get a bit scary at times. ahh well, I'm still jealous of anyone with the swap.

lol

mac is right

just get the feel for it for a few days or a week without your girlfriend in the car.

also slow down and dont drive like a crazy f*ck. not only are you risking your gf's life and yours but you are also risking other peoples lives on the road. they have designated areas (called race tracks) for high speed endeavors.

dont think i'm being an ass...just saying what is true.

edit: oh and good luck getting pass smog.

South Central L.A. is full of corupt people that will pass my car for smog. I wont be able to get the swap till towards end of summer, if I even do.

A 5s-fe can be upgraded to about i'd say 220 with the burien if you strengthen it up and turn up the boost. that would be most likely smog legal and pretty fast i supose...

edit: obviously alot of other stuff in the hood also.

I thought the burien kit would make our celi's smog illegal in CAli?

From my feeling since I have my gts, there's a lot of..hum...how do you call it....torque steer ?....the car slam to one side when you hit the floor mainly when turning at low speed. There is diff work to do in our cars. My vr6 had near 180hp and it was way more stable and safe on this chapter...I don't know about the 3sgte tranny....
Si I guess just pushing a 5sfe to get 200 hp with the same diff, ouch, two hands on steering !

I don't think the Burien Kit is as reliable as the 3sgte swap would be though...I know a guy on toyotacelicaweb.com and celica.net that swapped a 2nd gen...he bought the clip for 2k shipped, and sold everything he didn't need...and nearly got all his money back...so the Burien kit wouldn't be my choice...but I'm sure it would be easier...Correction I know it would be easier.
