I know some states don't require a front plate, I'm not sure if NY is one of those states. If it is, you'll get a ticket for not having your plate mounted on the front bumper.

i live in charlotte now but okay...let me answer you...im from queens, and i will tell you now its illegal, if the cop wants to be an ass...you get a ticket...but what u can do is put both of them up there (one on top of the other sharing 2 screws.) i have also seen people put their ny tags in the front or rear windshield VISIBLY..but i would be careful...

Right at this moment it's really not a good time to not have a front plate M.I.A
Most of NYC cops are being bunch of A-hole giving out tickets for covering Empire state sign on the plate (Got 1), having dark tints & yes they do measure what percentage your tints are (Got 1), & yes I got 1 from missing front plate for my M3 (Almost had 2 but the 2nd officer was nice) If you are planning on putting on your mom's gift the best idea would be putting it under your front plate. frown.gif smile.gif

Here in Nebraska you have to have it on your front bumper if its in your front windsheild, ticket. (got 1) They measure your tint (got 1) but the only cops that measure tint here are State Troopers. but ya wish didn't have to have a front plate you get pulled over from behind not in front of you. its stupid i think.

i didnt know nebraska had to have plates on the front...its pretty rural out ther isnt it? i thought only highly populated states would require front plates (so cops can see coming from the opposite direction)
