ok so i looked at that how to and found that the diagram does not match up with what it says to do with the black wire coming out of the coil. It says it will be connected to the orange wire from the btm but it shows it being connected to the read.

Manny has typed, in a rush as he had to run, that...
PRESURE2: the white wire coming from the coil gets cut
PRESURE2: the coil side of the wire goes to the orange from the BTM
PRESURE2: the harness side goes to black from the tach adapter
PRESURE2: the white wire is white with a blue stripe
PRESURE2: then the red from both units tap into the black wwith ornage stripe.

but what about the white one from the btm and the gray one from the tach adapter?

I know manny was in a rush but perhaps later someone can revize the how to or help me out. id hate to hook the rong wire up to the rong place lol.

thanks in advance and no stress on time.

both the how to and manny speak about the ignition coil being on the driver side firewall.

the only thing ignition related on my drivers side fire wall is a box that says Intition Control on it. It does have the white w/blue strip wire and a black w/orange stripe wire. However these pairs of wires are going in and out from more then one area of the unit.

I looked in the haynes book for where the ignition coil is. and it places it behind the distrbutor cap.

Does someone have a pic of what i should be tapping into. I c the wires but dont know which ones to tap into as there are more then one pair of them.

The how to did not work for me either. But I'm OBDII so maybe that matters? The wire colors where the same though. Isn't the white/blue the negative and not the positive? I thought the two color wires where always the negatives?
I have the Tach Adapter and through trial and error and a few popped fuses I figured it out. Then the MSD 6BTM blew my stock coil all to heck.
So I go and by the MSD blaster 2 coil (Rocks all by itself - bye bye idle fluxuation - $40 well spent)
but now I must have mislabeled the wires and I can't get it to work again.
Sux!!!!!!!!!
Please help us.
Do you think I fried my MSD? It's still under warranty but it takes like a month to get it back.
HEEELLLLLPPPPP!

BTW - the white wire from the BTM was used on my setup the black went to ground with the other at the Battery (or wherever).

Boost Timing Retarder part of the MSD - retards timing based on boost for N/A to Turbo applications.

I still need a working diagram for an OBDII GT. The above doesn't work.
Please help - I miss the extra response.
Pictures from another persons setup or a handmade wiring diagram would be awesome.
Thanks in advance.

from your coil there is a plug on it
you take the white wire with blue stripe.
cut it
the coil side of the wire connects to orange from the BTM
the harness side goes to black from the tach adapter
then you take the black wire with orange stripe from the coil
and the red wires from both the BTM and tach adapter tap into that.
thats it. wink.gif

Many many thanks.
My black wire does not have a orange stripe though - does that matter? Remember I'm OBDII - Are you?
I had it working before for 6 months untill the stock coil blew. No I have the master blaster coil - much better.
I'm thinking I may have fried the MSD. It's still under warranty though.
Pics would help but don't put yourself out or anything.

LOL - yeah the first time I did I cut all the coil wires too. Then had to go back and reconnect them and insulate etc.
Do you have a digital camera?
