Thats right, more harrassment. Apparently my tag light was out, but he wanted to search my car too! Funny how those two things go together. Of course he found nothing except my expired registration and license, which apparently is a felony. Talked my way out of it though, and was free and clear, yet again. (I talked my way out of a speeding ticket last month!) Of course, I had to pay like $200 to get all my stuff up to date the next day. Oh well, beats that AND tickets.
There have been a couple topics on how to get out of tickets lately. So I thought I'd offer some advice. The best way to beat a ticket, is stopping him from writing one. -------------------- |

Hmmm U can't really talk your way out from every ticket
That's like saying every police officer has same personality I highly doubt that every police officer on every state are not the same & one more thing if you do the crime you should pay for it even if it's a little BS. & by the way WTH are you driving around with expired registration and license |

One way I got out of mine was I had my college school ID in front of my Drivers license, So that When I pulled out both Id's. The cop guy saw the school ID first and then I gave him my drivers license. I seemed to got away last time without a ticket, or ending up in jail-----for somethine else...... Basically put, you just have to make the guy feel sorry for you so that you could get away.

were you on the highway when you got pulled over? If so, they dont pull you over to harass you, there is a drug unit in alot of states that pull people over for whatever reason they can find to search their car for illegal substances. You were just unlucky that your **** was expired, he has to do something about that because that is illegal. also, when they say theyll cut you a break on a ticket this time, they do that because they are only looking for drugs, not every cops job is to run the quota and write tickets you know...

If you go to college, always say you're going to and from school, and have your school ID near your liscense.
Most of the time, kids going to college impresses these guys and makes them not want to be hard on you. IE, you're not some HS dropout who lives for speed- one day you might be a "productive" member of society. |

This topic is just pathetic. If you get pulled over, take it like a man. Only girls try to make cops feel sorry for them. Boo-hoo, I'm sorry, Officer. Oh yeah, the only real way to get out of a ticket is to get a lawyer. It may cost near the same as paying the ticket, but it'll save you points on your license.

p.s. putting ur liscence next to ur school ID doesnt do ANYTHING. U honestly think that a cop will feel sympathetic for a teen speeding just by lookin at their school ID?

I always have my work badge in the same pocket as my wallet so that if I get into a tussel with the locals i have to take it out and set it on the passenger seat nice a upright, so they know who there not talking to some punk kit but a ""productive" member of society." and that way they also teat me with respect and as an adult. also helps to treat them the same, and not try and talk yourself out of it, just disscuss the issures, and the easyest ways to resolve them withough complication.

Also, if you read my post, you'd see that it isn't about sympathy. I don't know how you'd get the idea that a school ID is supposed to generate sympathy. Usually, and I've heard cops describe it as such, it reminds them to take a step back and see the bigger picture of things- that your identity for the society they are trying to protect goes beyond "renegade speeder" and probably extends to starving (and if you're really lucky, Grad) student. And, there is a huge difference between being masochistic and taking it like a man when you are pulled over, and being polite, curterous and apologetic- and then taking it like a man and paying the ticket if he gives you one. There's no reason to scream: YOU CAUGHT ME, I WAS GOING 80 ON THE FREEWAY. I DESERVE TO BE ARRESTED. JUST SHOOT ME NOW. Just be polite and curteous.. oh yeah, and if you're a security guard, keep that ID IN FRONT of your liscense. This post has been edited by shid: Oct 29, 2005 - 10:19 AM |
