Well i have a set of custom mounted 6x9's in my rear deck lid (no biggie) but i have a set of 12's in my room waiting to be put in. My only problem is that im goin to keep the deck lid in so i can keep my speakers. But my flaw is that there won't be any air to cool the amp down (and it needs it (2400 watts)) but i wanted to custom cut out the celica dragon in the deck lid and mount a grill and some neon under it so it will look custom but also serve purpose lol. but i didnt know if ne one has done ne custom cut outs and if so post some pics so i can get an idea of about what im gettin in to.thanks in advance for any interest.

Where is the amp going? If you're worried about airflow you can use a computer fan.

Its possible (probable) that your 6x9s are going to distort once the volume gets turned up if you just have them mounted to the deck lid with subs in the back.

The cutout is not necessarily needed, but the idea does sound cool. Shouldnt be too hard, but the deck lid could need bracing if the cutout is big and you want to attach a grill to it.

Why would u want rear speakers??? They do no good, just spend some money and buy MB-Quarts Premium series speakers for the front with separate tweeters. Run them through 4ch amp and it will sound way better.
I have two friends (one with eclipse other with camry) who went front speakers only and it sounds better than ever. Right now I am running only my front speakers (mbquarts discus series) and I am telling u, if I change my setting so that my rear Alpine Type-S speakers work 50/50 it totally kills the sound.
