As some of you know. I'm getting the vader bodykit, or the veilside kit. But i'm wanting to put red underglow on my car. Just the plain ones. And i was wandering if anyone has tried this before? I'm wanting to wire the underglow to my foglight wireing? because when the bodykit gets put on im taking my fog lights off. Just wanted to know if you can wire the underglow right up off of the fog light wires?

I HAD it, ashamed I am because its ricey in my opinion but thats just me. I had it mounted on top of the mouth of the invader kit lighting up the mouth, obvioiusly. I also had it on the inside portions of the underbody lips. I dont know how else to describe them besides that if ne body has a pic of what im talking about. The rear neon fits very nicely into the stock bumper as I didnt have an invader rear but im sure that same place will be equally as good.

putting a tube on the rear sucks.
lol

i had a LED kit and it barely fit between the bottom of the kit and the spare tire well.

im just putting side tubes on it now.

so what u r wanting to do is wire the kit to your stock foglight switch?
when u turn your fog switch on the lights come on. right?

im guessing that would work.

That's a good idea! I wanted to get an L.E.D set for mine but I'll wait until after the kit is put on, just incase it doesn't fit or something.

I have a 7 color led kit (kinda like Phat's) but on the rear if you mount it where it is supposed to be you can cut like an inch off the bottom of the body kit and it looks awsome. takes like 5 minutes if you knowwhat your doin. and it should work with the fog lights i dont see why not.

Another question. If i hook it up to that fog light switch the underglow would only turn on if my headlights were on... So is there a way i could still use that switch and change the wiring or somthing to make it come on just when my cars running or my park lights are on? Please post and let me know and thank you.

i dont really understand why everyone says its rice. i like the neons and thinks it looks nice if the rest of the car looks nice. neons on an old beat up car is rice. when you can see the tubes, its rice. but if it looks nice and is installed properly, i think it looks real good. i remember a couple years back, i knew A LOT of people that loved the underbody neons and now a couple people say its rice and everyone jumps along and says its rice too. i say get em bro. if you like it get it but install it properly. interior lighting isnt rice either. neither is painting interior panels. if it comes out good then i dont think its rice. especially if its not a honda! lmao. jk.

Thank you Joker. I 100% agree on that. people must not understand what (RICE) means. And Joker you explained it perfeclty. thumbsup.gif

The bulbs will be properly installed. Trust me. smile.gif But also another thing for (RICE) is when you see a Ford mustang or pontiac GTO (Newer) driveing around with underglow.

i don't care how they're installed, any lights are rice...but we all have our own opinion...

...you could poll here, and see what fellow 6gcers think...just a thought...

No poll, thats just out of spite. Besides, I think there was already a poll about this about a month or two ago.

I have cold cathode tubes in my interior. 1 tube in each footwell, hidden FAR up under the dash, and 2 under seat front seat. No wiring shows. No transformers show. No tubes show. Even my switches are hidden. Stock celica by day, and fun at night.

It goes to show if something is done right, it's not rice.

obviously none of you know what rice is

underglow is rice... period. however it is less rice on a car like a mustang or GTO because they are already fast cars

here is your definition of rice

http://www.craigfr.com/rice/def.html

... and yes underglow is mentioned because it is rice

now before you start yelling at me. some aspects of rice are ok. if your car is clean and/or fast underglow is ok to an extent. some things that are rice are just ridiculous though and should be constantly flamed. so make the right choice and if you get flamed dont complain

well then lets not put custom wheels on our cars, cause that might be heavier, and that must be rice right? Lets all throw an exhaust on, because we get 500HP from it, right? No? well then it must be rice then huh? No bodykits allowed, cause thats rice isn't it? And don't even think about putting in a sound system or lowering springs, because that is all RICE isnt it?

You people who come into these threads and throw the rice flag up as soon as you hear an idea you PERSONALLY don't like. If he wants neons, and you dont like it, the shut up and move to the next thread because comments like that aren't needed.

EDIT: you should check with playr on the dual exhaust being rice.

THAT IS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT. (mustang and GTO with underglow would be called rice to me.) Because thats an american car wanting to look like an Import. I laught at people like that. And also i only like underglow if the car has a bodykit and is clean. exactly what mine will be repainted and a bodykit before i get it.
