My new tranny should be here in about 3 or 4 days, (coming from cali to tenn). I'm in the process of taking out the old tranny and im stuck, this is very frustrating. I have everything unbolted and disconnected and a jack under the tranny. Moving it up and down, prying on it, nothing is seperating it from the motor. Its a 5sfe by the way. I already searched, cant find anything to help me. Any advice guys? p.s. (this is my first tranny remval) could have somthing to do with it. I'm one of those guys who learns as he goes.

You've disconnected the axle and all that jazz from that side I assume? I've had the tranny off about 3 times now. Once it gets unbolted, it just pops off. You must be missing something. You should have the jack under the engine though. Just pick up the tranny by hand. Get under it and wiggal it out.

Yeah ive got the axle's out n everything. I dont think theres anything ive missed, ive looked over it 100 times. Is it easier to wiggal from the bottom or the top?

Try tapping with a hammer around the edges too. -------------------- Live Free, Be Happy

116k miles on the old tranny. My 5th gear went out about 2 months ago. It finally went completelly out. I ended up taking it out by myself(dont reccomend). The new one should be here in a couple of days. I've got the clutch out and im putting in a new zoom clutch kit tomorrow and i shold be ready to go. Oh, and do the pressure plate bolts have to be tourqed to spec? I think they do. Or just tightend down firmly?
