that looks like a big port head and rwd intake from the 8 intake runners

if you got this off a fx-16 i though all were small port engines?

please clear this up for me

This is a bigport head with a FWD intake manifold. This head could have came from an FX16 or 88-89 Corolla GTS, which all had bigports (from the look of the few plugs on the manifold... it's most likely from the FX16. The later 88+ ones used different styles of plugs). The only USDM cars to have ever had the smallport were the 90-91 Corolla GTS and the 90-92 Prizm GSI. The later model 92 Prizm GSI were even MAP sensored...

thanks for clearing that up bee now my question in a NA motor the small port is easier to make power up to 200 horse than the big port with like 11.0:1 pistons

Personally speaking... I like the smallport more... but in terms of possibly making power... they're basically the same thing. The MAJOR difference between the two is TVIS, but if you're looking to make 200+hp n/a... TVIS is gonna have to go anyways since it's gonna act as a mid-range hinderence (not to mention it'll be mostly useless at that power range). This is where the smallport has a slight advantage. The bigport's intake ports are a little bit too big to generate decent midrange velocity without TVIS... but with TVIS, running cams big enough to make 200hp... TVIS causes very noticeable power dips caused by vaccum lag in the actual butterfly system and by the sudden velocity loss (this has been noted many times before with 4AG and 3SGTE peoples and their dyno graphs at all sorts of power ranges). If we're talking the entire motors, as in smallport 4AG versus bigport 4AG... I'd go the the smallport every single time. Smallport is stronger (vsersus the early 40mm crank bigports), and the head is more tuner friendly because of the lack of TVIS. However... since we're talking 7AGE... it's a matter of prefrence. I personally would do smallport because it's more tuner friendly and if you want to go with bigger ports, you can always port out the smallport... meanwhile with the bigport... you're pretty much stuck.

To add a bit more... this head could have also come from a 1st gen MR2. Actually... more than likely... it did since Corolla FX16's are quite rare... and the layout of the intake manifold yells MR2.

Heh... if you don't know what the Toyota head consists of... not worth your trouble bro. Nothing against you... but if you're even gonna attempt a hybrid build... you gotta know your stuff.

Most Toyota belt driven heads don't use rockers. They use very simple shimm'ed buckets (over or under) and then run cams over them. In fact... I can only think of a couple Toyota heads that use an actual rocker system (18/20/22R, 2ZZGE, 2/3TC, and possibly a few other old ones). Simple. Everything in the picture is complete, except for the cam caps and valve cover... but I'm gonna assume those will be included also.
