Hello,
just read your post about the modifications planned to your gt-four. Good luck with your project. Can you please find the time and describe which Superflex Polyuratan Bush Kit did you get exactly. Part # would help a lot. I am very interested in buying poly bushings for my car and since you already got all the numbers sorted I thought you could give me and other guys here some help. Here is last photo from work shop. Machine shop finished, conrods & pistons installed. Waiting head to install. tomorrow we will install head with new shiny cover unfortunaly my 6 paddle clutchnet clutch was in very bad condition and i decided to go with full cusco twin plate clutch kit which will arrive next week. its so bad that they cannot start to make custum manifold before engine is placed.

@jgreening
Yes i know But i bought this kit a few month ago, before i knew that i would have to rebuild my engine. I think the best way to get it on now, is to get the TD06 in and search for a bigger turbo which i might be able to find until autumn 2006. I need to finish my project now. As i am blocking a friends garage for 2 month allready. Otherwise if i would be able to find a setup with a bigger turbo i would do it straight away. Still got around 8 weeks of time until my engine is rebuilt. Any suggestions for a quickspooling turbo which doesn't start to spool up much past the stock one but will give me 500-600 hp??? cheers Joerg -------------------- |

Don't forget that most important thing is program. and high horse power is at higher rpms. my turbo can give max boost arround 4300 rpm and can give 680 bhp, go for gt35r. nice to see you too neoklis... today my cusco twinplate clucht kit arrives. if we place engine tomorrow. we need an other 10 more days for custom made manifold. end of this month car will be ready. i cant wait to have a meet together. -------------------- |

Thank you mate. i am thinking about getting either a GT3076R (350-500 bhp) GT3040R Garrett GT3040R is the same turbo as the GT3076R but with the larger compressor side from the GT35R (350-600bhp) GT3582 (400-600) BHP numbers are taken from here: turbolist On this site it says 660 bhp are possible with that GT3076R ???? But how can that be????? 9 sec Good Info here as well: ATP There are so many turbos out there and i fell a bit lost.... @uzthedentist I have the Pace Rad here allready looks good but was expensive and had some issues in the fabrication. Hope it will fit! This post has been edited by snakeloa: Jan 5, 2006 - 6:43 AM -------------------- |

The turbo it is a decision that must decided from the drive This is what i think...drivers maybe thinking for the a 0-400 or circuit,it depends.
500whp or 600whp engine needs also a 500whp or 600whp transmission keep that in mind Also tunning it is very important for the car life especially if you running so much power under the hood. snakeloa dont rush your self on finding a turbo or built your engine... follow Tufy's steps..he is planning his project for almost an year now |

@ Tufy
Where do you get the Downpipe from? Is it a screamer or a recirc type? If it is a recirc one I need one as well. Maybe you can get a 2. one for me or a small groupbuy??? Which Wastegate do you go for? Have you sorted oil and waterlines out allready? @ magic QUOTE snakeloa dont rush your self on finding a turbo or built your engine...smile.gif follow Tufy's steps..he is planning his project for almost an year now Thank you... I do not rush at all My car was out to be driven 20 days the last 2 years. The time in between i spent on tuning @ the moment my car is in the garage of my mechanic (it is there since NOVEMBER!!! and i won't be finished until end of march!!!) I am only rushing a bit on the turbo now As my plans had changed because of the whole rebuild. I am pretty sure that the GT 35R is the best solution for me. (interesting as well would have been the GT 3076R) I was recommended this one a few times here and by my cylinder head porter.... I only need to know which of the A/R 0,63 0,82 or 1,06 will bring me best results? How are the different A/R of the turbine side will affect my car (lag, spool up...)??? cheers Joerg -------------------- |

Wastegates are weird, man. My friend on his 1.8l Mazda engine, is running 10.2 at 137 with a 46mm Tial. Then, some dude in a 1.8l Kia Sephia 4-door is pushing 522 FWHP and his using a...drum roll...Turbonetics Deltagate. Yeah, a 35mm wastegate, heh. Crazy, huh? I'm gonna get a 100mm mortar head wastegate.

I can only imagine how sharp this clutch will be and how much paint it will give you if you gonna street drive your car Tuff I did test drive of the EVO8 with 450 Hp and using almoost the same unit as a clutch and i stalled like 5-7 times... But once you add revs and drop the clutch its a heaven

Looks like the build is progressing well. However, one of two little things concern me. You say you are after 500whp - just wondering if you are really expecting that amount. I honestly would be surprised if your engine will last with that sort of power thrown at it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to put your efforts down, just that I know what it's like to put a lot of time, effort and $ into an engine rebuild. For starters, 9.0:1 CR, even with a thicker HG is potentially asking for major problems at higher boost levels. Water / methanol injection would certainly help stave off any potential detonation, but given the boost level which would be required to see 500whp, I doubt that it would cope. Also, with such a large turbo, it would be extremely laggy on the road - unless I've missed the point and it's going to be a drag car Max boost at 4300rpm isn't something I could live with every day. 272 deg cams are pretty wild. Good luck with getting it to idle Also, are you fitting an oil cooler? The stock item will not cope with 500whp full stop - especially in a climate like yours. I'm looking at around 320whp and even for that I'm going to be fitting one. AS for rad, as uzthedentist says, the Pace unit is nowhere near as good as the Koyo one. And Koyo is cheaper. Good luck with the build, but remember that even a custom built motor has its limits and you really need to think carefully about what you are doing if you want it to last Cheers Gary -------------------- 1994 ST205 Celica GT-FOUR Group A WRC - running in new engine 1993 Rover 220 GTi tarmac rally car (under construction) 3SGE power here we come.... I'm surpised that you haven't renewed the heat sleeve on the oil cooler water line. Given its close proximity to the turbo, it is at risk from being damaged by radiant heat. You wouldn't want that pipe to split etc I used some new heat reflective sleeving on mine to ensure it will last...
