i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

Are you getting the desiel? lol. What's the power on the V6 in this thing? It says the desiel is 175, that would be around 220-230ft-lbs of torque wouldn't it, at least? I'd like to see some numbers on this thing before I get excited. It is kinda pretty, but it looks like and S2000 with a Lexus grill.

Speculation is that the IS350C will get the same 6 cyl as the IS350 (300+hp NA) and RWD and 6 speed. If so, I am in and I will ditch my MR2 project.

With that much to start, you could get 400 with a decent supercharger and minor upgrades. 6 speeds are so apealing to gear heads for some reason. I know I want one, but when I think about it, I'm not sure why I want it so bad. It's not that much better than a 5 speed. I like shifting though. Depends on wieght and actual numbers, but with 300hp, it's looking better than I thought.

i thought the 350 was automatic only while the 250 had an option?
so will the C bring manual over to the 350 motor?

nvm, i checked
the 350 is only auto, but it's 6spd auto, and if it's like the 300(it is tongue.gif) then it'll have those button shifters on the wheel.
the 350 has AWD option, others all RWD i believe is what i saw.
i just checked lexus.com or w/e

If they don't put the manual in the convertible, they should be shot.

It's too bad the lexus.jp site remodeled for the new year, because on the philosophy page about L-finesse there was a large sized picture of what was obviously the clay of what the IS coupe was shaping up to be, showing half the front end and some of the side profile- slightly different than the above concept, and more similar to the 4 door.....

The new GR series engines are quite nice... and that particular one (2GRFE)... is dual vvti and chain driven. Just in case for those who haven't opened up any of the newer chain driven FE heads (ZZ series, GR series)... they are true dual cam heads with two cam gears, however the heads still retain the narrow angle design along with the dished pistons and shallow combustion chambers.

Now if only Toyota, or Lexus or whoever is deciding things... would make a 6 speed manual IS350... they're only shooting themselves in the foot. I don't care if it's AWD or RWD... let there be a 6 speed manual option with the 3.5 liter. C'mon now...

I do sincerely hope they make a coupe version though... not just concepts... and let it have a fricken manual tranny with the 3.5 too...

I read in car and driver that the 6 speed paddle shifters in Ferraris work just as well as an actual manual. They say you don't loose any time at the track. Still, it adds more wiring and weight. I'm not sure how the Lexus shifters would be.
