I've been reading about the 5sfte and am considering it, a swap is just too expensive right now. i was also looking at the burien kit but its about 2500 bucks, which ain't bad for a turbo kit, but how much would the kit be if i picked up all the parts myself, like pressure2's setup.

lol..... those who think 5sfte are cheap are soooo wrong.. well keep this in mind.. nothing cheap comes reliable. manny and my kit cost us around 3 - 4k... which is pretty much close to how much a swap is gonna be. the Burien kit is not even a complete kit.. they don't have intercooler, 460c injectors etc.. read up presure2's sticky. there are more details on how the right 5sfte set up is suppose to be done.

The Burien sucks. You will be so tired of those measly 7 pounds you will mangle yourself to death. Just swap...everybody here that has custom turbocharged their cars have spent over $4K.

yeah the burien kit sucks. comes with everything you NEED (injectors included), but not everything you SHOULD have. theres no intercooler, no gauges, no ems and i think they modified the wastegate so that its stuck at a certain psi.

Yeah, for the cost of the Burien kit, I could build a BAD-ASS kit. But yeah, it's also about not spending unnesessary money when you can get equal quality in something of a different brand. I bought everything name-brand because at that time I did not know ANYTHING about turbos or performance mods. So I spent close to $6,000 in my setup (not counting what I had to rebuy again). Now, in the UNLIKELY event that I swap in a 3S-GTE, I can use everything except the manifold.
