hmmm... dont know about ur hood cable, but i wouldnt be pulling in air from the outside through your vents if it smells like gas. it's probably not something you're looking to breathe in, especially without your windows down. goodluck with the fix, sry to hear about that.

Put the car up, find the hood cable and yank, make sure to buy a replacement before you close it.

dont know whats cauing your gas smell...but dont drive it like that untill you figure it out, or it could cause a fire.
check the cable as it connects to the lever under the steering wheel and make sure that it didnt just come loose there. if thats fine..... jack up the car, undo the underbody plastics and try to access the latch from under there. -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

Sounds almost, like someone jacked your car. They probbaly disconnected a fuel line and was hoping that it blew up when your driving down the streets. Its a good idea to take a look at your enemies list and find out who wants your hide now. A disconnected cable is bad enough, but fuel leak? Soubnds like foul play to me.

no, the wire came loose from the latch on the hood, when i got underneath the car i can see the end of the wire, i tried yanking and pushing on the latch from the bottom but no luck, and i think the seals might need replacing but cant verify until i can get hood open...
any other ideas?? anyone that has opened the hood , can you check where the wire is attached and possibly snap a pic and post? thanks.. |
