catalytic converters don't really affect your hp/torque anymore..

The technology used in catalytic converters today makes it so that they don't really hinder your flow and should be LEFT IN PLACE....all your going to do is pollute more and fail emmissions.....

On a 95 car though, it might not hurt to get a new one. They do wear out. Mine on my 94 was fine when I took it off though.

the flow of air is less restricted with a performance catalytic, if u have no problems with passin the smog test u shouldn't even have one just take it off, u'll have easier air flow

truth is u gain nothin from a catalytic converter but unless u get a really good one (which i havent found) it'll restrict the air flow which makes u lose power, if u take it out, ur def not gonna pass emisions but u'll get better air flow.. and its true cus we did it on my buddys maxima better wit out it but hes got no problems on passin emisions

you will not pass emissions without one....

and they don't impead the flow enough to make a sizable/noticable difference (maybe 1hp)

stay smart, keep the air clean, keep your cat!

If that belief makes you feel better... that's fine. I'm not here to convince you.

That's just in your head. There's no reason it would preform better with a muffler. Mufflers are just there to creat tone, and muffle noise.

I'm not asking to be convinced. I'm just asking? Is it entirely true?

Ummm no its not in my head. I've had two cars where I bought with a rusted exhaust and the muffler fell off. Didn't have the funds to fix it so I just had to deal with it till I could get it fixed. It never performed any better. Low end would feel weaker too.

So you're not sure it's entirely true... therefore you want me to convince you with some facts... right? Umm... how's common sense? What does "muffler" mean?

Well, with no muffler often comes backfire. That kind of backfire can't be good for performance.
