I know its the same as a GT tranny, and i THINK i saw this once here. I tried to look for it at mr2oc. but i cant find it either. Im lookin for the gear ratio for this tranny.
This is a little off topic, but im plannin to buy cams in future and unfortunatley, TRD carries the ones i need and they are expensive, as well as way too aggressive. What do you guys think about a 280 combo with about a 12lift? Wouldnt be a good idea for a street car would it? |

The ratios are very very close, if not exactly the same. If somebody knows the exact difference structurally or ratio-wise between the two then speak up, but I know that the two are almost identical. If you're talking the SS3 tranny, Jeff aka defgeph uses that tranny with his 3SGTE and his ratios are the same as my GT determined by using speed relative to the RPMS.
As for the ratios, if you look on the 6GC homepage theres a link titled information. You'll find info on the ratios under that section. Also, are these cams for your 5SFE or another motor? I know that guys on MR2OC use Webcams brand camshafts alot with success.....just go on their N/A forums and you'll find the info stickied. -------------------- 3rd gen ST205 3SGTE - Alive and boosting. |

QUOTE(sugarfree @ Feb 25, 2006 - 7:39 PM) oh sorry, i forgot to mention it was going into a beams motor. How could i have forgottened. Too much cam for a stock motor, stock ecu, and stock valvetrain. 12mm lift is quite a bit... As for the tranny... I'm pretty sure its the basic S54 tranny with an LSD diff and slightly different gearing... -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... I'm an artist!"

Yea its the s54.
As far as the cam, ill also be upgrading the head for sure, and ill look into a computer managment. I really just want to know if these cams were too aggressive for a street, car. But it seems i might be outa luck to go with a different setup. Im consider doing, but i need to look into what head work ill need to do. |
