ok so my car has about 109000 thousand miles on it and i got a oil change on it. the guy at car boys told me to change out my rear main seal and valve cover gasket. my only question is how do i know if this guy is telling me the truth or if he went ahead and poured some dirty oil in places of my engine so id beleive him????

wipe it off, drive it around then look at it

keep an eye out for the oil pressure light while your driving it, you dont want to oil to get too low, I blew my block making that mistake kindasad.gif . I would suggest checking your oil level after your drive too wink.gif

yea just make sure it wasnt spilt oil from the oil change. if you do go ahead and change your gaskets, make sure you monitor the car. because other leaks might pop up due to the pressure going elsewhere. also murphys law, lol

one thing i learned about mechanics is that they really dont lie about what you need to have fixed. they only try to ripp you off on the price of the repair.

are you loosing a lot of oil? that would be an easy way to tell if you have a leak. the valve cover gasket is very easy, and you can do it on your own. rear main seal is a big job and involves taking off the tranny
