Hi all
I am a new 6G owner biggrin.gif ,Just got a 98 SSIII with Beams engine, but alas the engine light is coming on.It seems to come on when I start to hit high(ish) speeds eg.80 kmph.I have brought it in to have a dignostic run on it but they could'nt find a problem, its a japanese import and the importer tells me that the timing belt was done 10k kms ago.Has anyone out there had this problem before as I would like to know this can be sorted before I make any changes to the car. kindasad.gif

I would say have someone else run another check. There has to be a code if that light comes on.

I am experiencing something similar right now. However my problem started after I ran into a problem on the Freeway and the car backfired. I was told that since the CEL goes back out after I run at slower speeds for a while, that it most likely the O2 sensor. I was told that the backfiring might have messed up the sensor. I will see this weekend. I have an extra sensor and will replace it.

Yeah thanks for the feedback,
Gonna get the importer to have it sorted,I reckon it is one of the sensors as engine sounds fine and performance is great.
Will update when I find out
