I changed my oil a few days ago with Castrol GTX 5W-30. I was idling in a parking lot and my engine started smoking so I get out and there is a puddle of oil under my car. I checked the oil filter and drain plug and they are tight. Does anybody have an idea of where this oil could be coming from? I will take some pics tomorrow of the spots that have oil on them maybe that can help. Any help would be appreciated.

Did it all of the sudden happen to start leaking? One idea is to check your seals. Just a thought. Hope you get it fixed soon.

How would I check a seal for leaks? I have never had to do anything like this before so I am completley lost lol. well check the oil level to help ensure you dont damage the engine. clean it down well and then start it up and look for the leak. you can get a tracer dye and a uv light kit to make tracking it down easier.

Check your oil level first. Fill up if you have too. Put your car up on blocks, start the motor and get underneath with a light. You will see it.
