OK here we go...LOL

I was crusin around downtown long beach when I had this weird craving for a gallon of Horchata (some kind of mexican rice/cinimon drink that taste danm good). Anyway theres a bum there and since I feel extremly sorry for people (I always give money to those peeps like safe a life foundation and etc.....guess thats the christian in me lol) Well I go buy him a sandwich and a water bottle then I leave.

He comes up to me and says "I need money please give me money..and I need a ride"

I could see he is holding a metal pipe to my Celica.

So then I go in Hulk Kamikaze mode (you know me) and he started to almost bash my spoiler when I kicked him in the balls (I know I know...not below the belt..but aiming for my Celica is like kickin me in the balls). Needless to say, he got owned. I felt sorry for him though so I bought him another sandwich and told him to go to church. What would you of done in that situation?

Dude, i'm a Christian too, I'll give hitch hikers a ride and stuff. I'm down with helping people out, but when all they want it money for booze or weed or something, I tell them to get lost. If some dude hurt my car, or theatened to hurt my car, I'd prolly just knock him out, then call the cops, and explain. Careful not to kick the crud out of a bum, cause one of my friends knocked this drunk guy out who was grabbing onto his shirt, asking for money. He didn't think too much bout it, till 15 minutes later (they were walking round down town) a cop comes up, and took the guy to the station for battery or something. Just be careful.

Yea, I never give money to bums...I just give food...oh yea out of curiosity..what kind of christian are you? i'm Mormon (Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints). Oh yea and I helped the guy back up though..haha..im sure many of you wqould of ran him over or something LOL.

dude, never give bums money, never offer to give them rides or let them crash at your place. I know this sounds harsh, but if you value your life, and want to really help the guy out then you will notify the local homeless shelter or local social service/church.

Remember people dont naturally like beings bums/homeless. This is a lifestyle they choose to live, when most people become desistute they'll get help either through the government, charity, or religious service to get back on their feet. Bums live the way they do because they have serious chemical imbalances caused by depression or drugs, so they have no desire to act within societal bounds, this includes other peoples safety. They just dont care.

We have lots of bums in D.C. and plenty of homeless shelters and social services to get them off the street, but whenever the cops/social services try to get them off the street they always go back!

Seriously leave this to the professionals, its like trying to help a dog with rabbies. sure the dog might be hungry and take any food you give it, but it be just as likely to bite your hand off, what it really needs is medical attention to take care of the real problem.

Im not really a religious person but I do help as much as i can. I do purchase a newspaper that a group of homeless people put together each month and charge only a dollar for it! and ill buy a bum some food but some bums just scare the crap out me. I walk by and they will ask for a hug or osmething then i say i have a boyfriend and theyll say something like "damn i wish i was him" or "hes lucky" then i walk faster! anyways I do what i can but i never give them money cuz i dont know where its going

Yeah, especially where you are Nate, LB has a rather large homeless population. I go on a case by case basis. If the person has put some time and effort into their sign, I might give them something, or if they're performing, doing some kind of service. Like there's this one guy in WeHo who has this laminated sign that's all nice and says Alms. I give to him cause he took the time to make it appealing to me.

If you really mean to do good by giving the person food and really want them to have a more successful life, then try to give them food and keep trying to work with them, never give up, you give the necessary things, and money isnt a need its a want, also, God says not to worry about anything so if you do give him money, just pray for that person and pray that they use the money for the right reasons. i am baptist, so my thoughts might be different than yall's. god bless

Ok i have a bum story for you guys. Ok so every day on my way to work I have to get onto the freeway (Loop 610) so there is usually traffic out the ass and the entrance is jam packed so im stuck kinda at the end of where a light starts. Ya know so if i dont move the people at the light behind me dont move. Get it. Ok well anyways. There is this bum that sites there. He calls himself spiderman. He is around 60 and african american. In houston we have wards for the "underpriveleged" people to live in. AKA 3rd ward 4th ward 5th ward. ok so his sign says "I AM SPIDER MAN OF THE 5TH WARD, GIVE ME MONEY OR I WILL SHOOT YOU WITH MY WEB" it is the funniest ****. and he has a gauz bandage around his leg but yet it is on the outside of his jeans and he walks on it. Every morning i have a good 10 minute conversation with the guy. He is really kewl. If i go to McDonalds or somin ill buy him a sandwich and give it to him. BUt he is prlly the funiest guiys i know. He says he makes somin like 4 - 500 a day. I was like ****, i need to be a bum.
