do the studs come out of this downpipe or are they welded in? cause both studs are broken off now, im thinkin about just JB welding my o2 sensor onto it, lol.
also if they do come out, what should i replace it with? equal size threaded rod? (how do cut threaded rod correctly, i always manage to screw up the threads) |

LOL - my SSatuochrome header sux too.
Send me a pic and maybe I can help you. I used too weld for a living and now I am an engineer and I design stuff (including performance parts for 6th gens and MR2's). I am sure I can help you with a better solution than jb weld. -------------------- ![]() |

QUOTE(brianforster @ May 10, 2006 - 1:14 PM) that was my plan dan, i just did not know if the studs were screwed in or welded in, and what i should replace them with. replace them with a normal 12m (i think) bolts. the studs that are in there now are screwed in. .... my downpipe didnt have any studs so i just used bolts. kind of makes you wonder how someon could break 2 o2 sensor studs? -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

especially since there was never an o2 sensor in that bung LOL.
I broke the second one, so it must just be weak, i was trying to bolt down the o2 sensor with the 1 stud for now and it just snapped right off easily. edit how long do the bolts need to be though? does the whole go straight into the downpipe or does it have an end? Drill them out and re-tap the threads and get bolts for it. Dont drill through the downpipe though.
