Which radiator should i use...the 5sfe one or my 3sgte one? Cuz they must not have the same efficiency, so i was just wondering.

Would running the car hard in hot weather on 5sfe rad cause the ecu to limit boost ? I would suspect that if the water temps shoot well above 200 degrees (caused by poor efficency of 5s rad) there must be some fail-safe procedure because I experience something like that on my car when its hot out and i cant go over 10 psi untill it cools down a bit.

why do you think the 5s radiator is efficently "poor" ?

if you really want the answer, pull out both radiators and compare them.

The 5th gen celica uses the same radiator for the 5s and the 3s... it is more than enough for a stock 3s.

I think the answer to this depends on your intercooler. My FMIC did not allow enough cold air to pass through so I had overheating problems with the stock intercooler and had to go to a double core. Many people have no problems with the stock unit though so you should try that first.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

I just assumed that, either because it is not full aluminum, designed for ecno motor that does not require superior cooling? I think im wrong and Jay is right about the intercooler blocking the flow...

Would you say that 5s rad is plenty good for slightly modded 3s ? is the st205 rad the same? just curious

I'm using the st radiator too and have had no problems with overheating. My temp gauge stays right in the middle all day long.
