Well I dont wana go into details but less say my RF 600 watt amp is ROYALY screwed. I need a new amp. This is a JL w6v2 so 400-600 RMS is fine and kinda what im looking for. This is a REALLY clean hitting sub and I need an amp to match, other then the obvious JL amp what are other good ideas because jl is expensive as can be.
Thanks guys This post has been edited by slipgun: Jun 1, 2006 - 4:16 PM |

Have a look on caraudiosecurity.com some really good deals.. dont all my cars though them.. best ones to look at for value of money is the crunch brand or the renegade
I have Crunch 1400w doing my trebble on a set of 6 x 9 and 6 x 8 and a Renagade 2000w doing two competition Pioneer subs.. but the built in fans aare a life saver.. Delivery is near enough within 48 hours to me in the Channel Islands so a good repsonse... |

Read my review, AMP review.
With Kenwood amp I ran Alpine Type-E and Infinity (all 12") With JBL and Polk I ran 12" JLW6v2-D2 dual voice coil at 2Ohms. If u want alot of power go with JBL BP1200.1, if u want clean hard hitting bass go with Polk Momo C500.1. There are a lot of amps of there so please research before you buy, I'd stay away from Alpine Amps (they are nice but really underpowered and overpriced) JBL, JL, MBQuart, Polk, MTX are really good amps. And please no matter what do not buy Kenwood, Pioneer, SONY or no brand name amp because you will probably regret it at the end. -------------------- <<AKA THA RUSSIAN>>

Oh no, what's so bad about kenwood. I just picked up the KAC-9102D and was told that older kenwood amps were really bad but the new ones are good? Is this just a lie... It's so hard to find an amp that can power 700RMS @ 2 ohms thats around $300. |

It's so hard to find an amp that can power 700RMS @ 2 ohms thats around $300. Well, its not extremely bad amp. But its pretty bad. I am sure it wont give you 700watts RMS because of two reasons. First because your car's electrical system cant make enough amps to power the amp, 2nd is because kenwood lies about their ratings and the amp will probably start clipping at about 350 - 400watts. It looks like you bought a mono amp so it might be good, but I'd stay away from brands like kenwood, pioneer, sony and stuff like that. -------------------- <<AKA THA RUSSIAN>>

Hopefully by the end of buying this amp a little more work on positioning the tweeters and some dynomat everywhere ill be ready for sound quality competitions Put your tweets on the triangle piece that is on the other side of side mirrors. I installed MbQuart Premiums there about two weeks ago and it just sounds amazing. The stage is up high and really wide, but do remember that it will sound pretty crappy without any time alighment done to it. When you bring your tweets up it might sound that they stand out and hearting your ears, if this happens open up the MbQuart X-overs and change the tweeter settings from 0db to 1.5db, that should make it sound really good. And common dont buy the JL amp, just buy used JBL BP1200.1 and you wont regret it. -------------------- <<AKA THA RUSSIAN>>
