So from what i hear. In a magazine out they tested the cars and the 69 camaro was the fastest. They did so much to the skyline that it was slower than if you were to go buy it from japan right now!

Although the Skyline IS fast..its not as fast as many think it is.....all unbiased magazines that have tested the Skyline found it slower than the Supra TT. Also...the R34 Skyline sold so poorly that they had to cut it (the only one that sold our was the R34 Skyline N1 Nuremburg edition) And Motor Trend was teh one who tested them...AWD was disabled on the Skyline for stunt purposes.

Also..You never know..they might of had some sucky driving while testing them...Paul Walker owns that Skyline (He has owned 4 GT-R's to date).

SCC did 1/4 mile runs using all the main cars (supra, evo, skyline, s2000, maybe some more)... they were all around the 14sec mark except for the flamingly gay s2000 which hit a 13.something . Apparently the cars themselves were in such ****ty condition, and with all the useless ricer **** smacked on, that they ran slower than stock.

The Supra did poorly becuase it was a high milage abused 93.5 Supra with a heavy TRD wide body kit and numerous crap they don't need. Supra still owns though =)

Watching Car and Driver TV a few weeks back, I learned the s2000 performed the best and the Supra was the worst

SCC did the review on them. The skyline had the AWD disabled so they could drift it. But the thing about the skylines is that yes they are slower than the Supra TT, they can be made to go insanly fast ie 0-60 1/4 mile and what not. Not to mention that there engine is like the 2JZ its built like a tank. But the supra and the EVO VII were teh only low mileage cars if I remeber correctly. But read the article on them. The supra ran the 1/4 mile slower than a stock Supra TT when car and driver did the test on it when it first came out.

Most of you guys are missing the point with the Skyline. Like cragspider said the engine is fruqin bulletproof. A stock Skyline puts out 280ish cause of the agreement the Japanese car makers have to keep it under 280hp and most of you guys know that. By simply replacing the chip it will put out nearly 400hp. Its all about capabilities here guys, replace the turbo and the chip and your looking at nearly 600hp as a conservative estimate. Not to mention the insane onboard computer it has. If anyone is interested they should find the r34 test drive video done by Top Gear, kinda like the British Motor Trend or Car and Driver. The reporter shows off the Skyline's G meter by whipping the car like crazy, he also shows its other features. I dont know of any other production car that has had a diagnostics type computer like the Skyline does. You can hook your laptop right into the USB connection in the console and say, download your drive home from work...thats choice! The reasons why its awsome go on and on. Download that video its pretty nice. I just registered for this site and they might have it somewhere, lots of awsome car videos. http://www.racingflix.com
Didnt they have to lock out the rear differential too, for the drifting parts? YEA THAT WEBSITE IS FUQING AWSOME!!!!!!!!! 'n free This post has been edited by Milds3vn: Jun 11, 2003 - 10:00 PM |

that and ALL OF THE FEATURED CARS IN SCC WERE STOCK UNDER THE HOOD EXCEPT THE SUPRA AND THE S2000
the supra was an na to single turbo upgrade and the s2000 had an SC. and yes, with the awd disabled the skyline lost a lot of traction. and yes all of the cars were beat to ****, especially the evo, it had 150 miles on the clock and it drove like it had 150k miles. the skyline had about 15,000 miles. the rest were all high milage. i would have to say that the best main cars were the challenger RT and the Yenko replica. the other cars were just too ricey. btw i think it the owner of the skyline was craig lieberman, -------------------- 1994 Celica GT4 WRC Edition

Supra and maxima was owned by Craig Liberman from the first FandF. He sold both of them for 40K and bought a R34. The R34 in 2F2F is owned by Paul Walker.....all in all owned 4. If the Supra was a N/A with a Single Turbo (btw Powerhouse racing sells the single turbo kit.....not street legal tho) then I would be a bit wary.....why? because the Supra has some pretty close marks to the GT-R....
