Hello everyone. Today i finished installing my dual stage boost controller. It works really well in the sense that you can toggle between two set psi at the flip of a switch. I left my low boost at 8pounds and it ran fine. Then i started setting the second boost contoller by trial and error. Basicaly make a run, look at what im running then turn it up.
My goal was to have it at 13psi, 9,10,11psi worked fine, but when i got it to boost at 12psi on the freeway, i heard some kind of sputtering of air in the engine bay. Not fuel cut because i remain at 12pounds(and i installed a fcd black box) but the car wants to keep making more boost but it sounds like leaking air from somewhere. Symptoms of a boost leak i know but i have no idea where it might be coming from. Earlier this week i had a bar and plate fmic installed with a hks BOV (atmospheric) and all the couplers feel tight. Any suggestions? has this happened to anyone? thanks ahead of time for any help smile.gif

make a boost leak tester, more than likely you have a boost leak.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

Change your cap, rotor, plugs, and wires. Your problem will go away.

Go to toyota and buy all the ignition parts.
