Here is a description of the car:
94 Celica GT, JDM 3sgte st185, Black with gold graphics and aluminum spoiler. About 130,000 kms on the body, and about 700Km's on the new motor. No rust or dents. JDM 3sgte St185 Motor custom motor mounts (I ordered the motor Jspec Auto from Montreal with under 50,000miles on it) E153 Tranny (mr2 tranny) converted to work with motor in front Huge Spearco intercooler with custom pipings 2.5'' full custom exhaust system with Magnaflow High Flow CAT XTD stage 3 Racing clutch kit manual boost controller set at 12PSI Fuel cut defense module set at 16PSI Apexi N1 Turbo Exhaust Custom short Ram Intake with KN FILTER Brembro drilled rotors PBR Brake pads HKs super sequential BOV (very loud and sound very sick) Ac tech. mirror boost and air/fuel guages Black/gray racing seats w/sparco Racing Harness 17'' ADR GT SPORT custom powder coated bronze with Avons tires Ungo Alarm Full Veilside style body kit Custom Gold alumiminum spoiler Full Side graphic Gold color Suspen. Tech. Lowering springs/ newer oem struts New plugs, rotor cap, rotor, Trd ignition wires. White guages with ALuminum bezel Sony Cd/mp3 player, rockford amp, 12'' Type R, Battery relocated to the back trunk Car used to be automatic and converted to 5spd. I got this car on the road couple months ago, (took me over a year to complete this swap) Motor came with under 50,000Miles on it, and I put about 700'km's on it, If you are a toyota fan and know about toyota, you'll know the 3sgte is swap is rare and 3sgte is one of toyota's best engines. Engine run beautifully and boosting around 12psi I say the project is like 90% done, If someone wants to complete this project, what needs to be done is clean up the motor and dress it up, clean out the turbo and lines. Good for the winter project. im from canada too though if that makes any difference, and these cars are more rare here. any one else from up north here can confirm that these aren't as common as in the states, and the prices for these are generally higher up here. price aside, what do you think of it. i do not know the buyer, and am not able to check it out, as it is in a different province. does it seem like a good car? is there anything i should be looking out for? i figure you guys know your celi's more than me (im still trying to learn) so i wanted your opinions

yea..celicas up here are pricey. I paid $4500 for mine, but i got a smokin deal on it. usually there are 6th gens on auto trader for close to 10K with no mods. I say go for it, but take off that ugly a$$ salami cutter spoiler. Your not gonna need to go shopping every day.
and 6th gens up here are expensive because they are rare. They only sold them here in 94-95, and because of the high price of them and the low selling #'s they didnt sell after the facelift happened. Up here a base model GT-S was like..$32K, base..loaded was like $45..it was stupid. ST's up here were like $24K base or somethin. I say go for it, but try and talk him down a bit for being so fugly. PS: where in Canada you from? This post has been edited by Valo666: Jul 16, 2006 - 7:34 PM |

if those are the mods you're looking to get for your celi anyways, then $10,000 cdn is a good price. the body condition and engine make it so. but i dislike the owner's taste on mods.
also, canadian cars are just that much more expensive than US cars. i'm surprised this isn't listed for $14,000. -------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

What scares me is the 90% done. Usually, this means that the car is not running right and the owner either (a) doesn't know why, or (b) he knows why but it costs too much to fix and still get money out of it. Either way, buying the car is a big risk. My car will be running perfectly when I sell it some day.

i dont like to buy cars this modified, cuase you don't know how everything is hooked up, and if something goes wrong, and you dont know the history of it, things like wiring, could be an issue cuase the EWD book might not be able to help you with all the after market stuff.

OK so i PM'ed him and i got this back:
Yeah if you are looking to do the swap with the additional full exhaust, a lot of customizing, sensors, intercooler, add-ons, look to pay $7500+ by the time you are done. You would need to modify the tranny and parts from the GT4 tranny to make it work, inner axles from Mr2 and outter axle for gt4, it was a headache. I finished the project last year, with couple minor problems in the wiring. I had the the wiring harness sent out and got it checked out by a guy in the States during the winter, but some how it got lost in the mail, aaaaaaaaaah! Now the car is siting outside my house without a wiring harness,. So this is a basically unfinished project you can finish if you decide to buy. And will cost you a lot cheaper than you would do a swap on ur car. You will need to get the harness wired costing around $600 ( $300 labour + $140 MR2 harness + $70 Celica +shipping) You can do it yourself or send it to a guy in pitsburg who has done 100's wiring jobs for 6gcelica with 3sgte swaps. I'm goin to anwser some of you questions, $10,000 is firm because you can get a stock for around 8-10g's. I've put at least $15,000 on the car, and $7500 is on the swap alone. You should try to sell your car for around $10,000, then buy my car and it will run a lot cheaper if you want a 3sgte swap in a celica. it has Brand new brake, ebrake, rotors, clutch, (used probably three months i drove it. didn't install lightened flywheel. 2nd 3sgte run on CT26. Mr2 tranny is not LSD. Used to be a GT. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ This gives me confidence, as all it "supposedly" needs is a wiring harness. Does anyone know how hard harness this would be to make, I am going to assume that a MR2 was used as the parts car, and therefore I am going to need to make a hybrid st204 & MR2 harness. Is this very different from a regular 3's swap, with a 3's from a celi, as opposed to an MR2? Im sorry I am noob and i am trying to learn, but this deal is very tempting...if i do get this, is there anyone who would be willing to help me do the wiring? As i stated i want to, and am willing to learn! This post has been edited by 6gsillyca: Jul 19, 2006 - 12:45 AM |

IMO.. wouldnt touch it with a 10ft pole...just walk away...i spent 18 months looking for the right GT-FOUR...found it, wouldnt sell it for the world..i am sure u could find a better 6gc for 10k $ |

$10,000 CND???
if you have the extra cash, buy jgreening's car, that would be soooo rare in canada. Plus its one of the sexiest machines i've ever seen pictures of. |

ya but jgreening's car is gonna end up like close to 19000CDN after exchange rate/duties/tax and assuming he drives it back... while the other car is gonna be <11000cdn... although the other car isn't complete.. but i mean with an extra 8000CDN.. u can basically bring the car to dr tweak to do another swap
so he shipped the harness out to sum1 in pittsburgh before.. was it like DG_Performance?... o yea.. isn't he also selling a swapped 6gc as well? This post has been edited by elvasoshexai: Aug 1, 2006 - 9:43 PM -------------------- |

i honestly don't think that a 3s swap is worth more than 7k. People want more than that to recuperate for there loss's. Anyone who ask more than 7k I think is a lil nuts :-/ thats just my 2 cents.
