so i was coming home from my girls house last night and i get behind a silver celica gt. we both got on to this 4 lane road so i got up along side of it and slowed down and we got stopped at a light rolled down the window and asked about the car. the light turned and be both took off first we were dead even the n when my automatic finnaly changes gears i got a head by like 2 feet. just as i got ahead his car switched gears too(it was auto also) and he started to come up the side of me. mine switched again and i his front fender was at my rear fender and we both slowed down (didnt want to get a ticket). well thats my story just thought it was cool to race another 6th gen and was quite surprised i beat him considering its was a gt.

If he had rims, then that's the whole reason. Bigger rims slow acceleration because of the extra power required to get them moving.

At the meet, when Brian, Michael, and I all raced(at several lights), I would always pull ahead(followed by Michael, and then Brian). All things being equal, my smaller rims are the only reason I could see(Me=15", Brian=17", Michael=18"). Other than that we were all similar(6th gen ST black hatchbacks).
