Guys, I'm REALLY interested in some racing seats and I only have around $200.00 at the most to spend on a pair. I've been looking around and I want to know if these are good or what other ideas you guys might have...
Wrong URL... I was just looking at that but I was thinking more along the lines of this This post has been edited by Diab1o_3000: Jul 18, 2006 - 12:47 PM |

Custom fab some mounts and take it from there. The more you can utilize the factory bolts the better off you are for safety purposes
I'm in the middle of putting new seats in my car right now, I'll have to take pictures as I get things situated. Its been so hot these past few days that when I get out of work I just don't feel like working. But soon I'll have at least the drivers seat put in. -------------------- 3rd gen ST205 3SGTE - Alive and boosting. |

Then I'll do that, but anyone have any ideas for specific seats? And would Red seats look good in a black GT vert? I'm planning on painting interior trim and maybe I could paint it red...

Member snapshotgt would be a good person to talk to. He has some real nice looking sport seats that he custom did. I think black seats with red inserts would look better with red trim but thats personal preference

If you want to get a black&red theme going on, get some seats that have some meaning. "Type-X" would be a no-no. No named would be alright, but how about these...

Your best bet, IMO, is to find somebody thats willing to do some welding for you and make a pair of bars that run between the stock bolt locations for the seat to mount the sliders to.
I think Corbeau actually makes sliders for the 94-99 Celica, so if you use their seats and sliders it may bolt up....but I don't know this for a fact. I opted to go for a set of generic that I could custom mount in and save money. However getting a bolt-in deal would be ideal. As far as color goes, just do whatever color you think will go with your current color scheme. Red would look great im sure, but only if it goes with the other interior cues that are already in place. Red Corbeau seats with red interior lighting would be pretty sick. -------------------- 3rd gen ST205 3SGTE - Alive and boosting. |

I saw in your original post you had black and grey seats. i found these at procarparts.com, and i think theyd look great in a black car. i got a black 94' st with black interior and my dash trim painted silver. theyre under $200 for a pair too, which also fits a tight budget. let me know what you think of em.

They made my brackets, and sent them in the mail for around $150. They fit perfect, and are awesome brackets. I tried getting some local people to do it -- but they will want a lot more than this place. I also happened to buy my seats from them too. ~snap -------------------- Past: V6 Swapped 6G Celica, E46 BMW M3, Jeep Wrangler TJ

Remember that any seats that are in the 'style' of Recaro, OMP, Bride, Momo etc etc will never be as well built/tested as the original stuff & will wear out a lot quicker due to cheaper materials & components etc.
I'd say save up a little more & get some pukka seats off Ebay or something. I've bought 2x sets of Recaros (1xset of SR's & 1xset of Speeds) off Ebay now. They look the dogs danglies imho. I'm thinking of swapping the blue inserts for grey ones at a later date to match the silver. This is what they look like Recaro Speed seats: Recaro SR seats that I took out yesterday & replaced with the Recaro Speed: Rich -------------------- |
