turbo problem Options

well ok guy..my turbo spins freely at idle but when i drive the car the turbo seems as if it gets suck or something.no boost what so ever...even with a boost controller there..it doesn't seem to boost..but it spins freely at ilde thought..any thoughts???

Check for boost leaks, vaccum lines/leaks or maybe WG sticking open ?

A boost gauge is a nice device to have on a turbo car and it also helps with diagnosis of boost problems

Get a boost gauge on there and see what it's doing. But if you're getting no boost, it sounds like the wastegate is stuck open, or is somehow being bypassed.

well the turbo spools up fine at free rev...but then when you drive the car it seems as if the turbo is just getting suck no clue why..it sound like a fan..not a regular turbo spool up..

Get a boost gauge.... CHeck and see if you have any boost leaks... it could be anything... I meen sometimes when you have a problem tvsv starts and only lets the 3sgte.... which is what Im assuming you have boost till 5psi.. I meen theres so many possibilties of problems.... go to advance buy the sunpro boost gauge its only 20 bux!

i have all thatstuff..like boost controller ,gauge, super afc, timer..all that good old stuff..oh yeah only pulling one pound..sad huh...turbo is in great condition not sure why not boosting..no boost leaks either...

Are you using a CT26? What manifold and downpipe? Is the wastegate set up correctly?

yes its the ct26 turbo....stock st185 manifold and down pipe untill i get my st205 back from the tunner shop..yes the wastegate was what i thought too..but its not.. i fingure its the turbo..thats f*cked up..i thinks it the bearings or something..the turbo spools up but when you drive its just makes a fan sound it doesn't even sound like a turbo spool..not sure..but just went a borrowed a ct20b for a buddy untill i get my td06 from the shop...

Jdm ceramic turbos always break... I wish I had a local buddy I could just "borrow" a ct20b off of... sounds like you have some great friends!

check your intercooler piping. it probably came loose and you have a boost leak.

well i just got news from the buddy that took the ct26... hes says that the front fin screw was on too tight..so at free rev the finns turned...but under pressure the bearings would spin but the fins wouldn't..weid huh...also he said he took it apart and found out that who ever rebuild it put something in backwards..so the fan noise was cause the turbo was blowing air back wards...now im just worry about my motor...yeah and my buddy are great..
