Yes, the pin has to be removed.

You will have to make some sort of bracket that will bolt onto the compressor housing and then to the wg actuator.

so the celica is torn apart again. i found my ssautocrap has cracked AGAIN!... what a surprise rolleyes.gif

in the process of making my new WG bracket still. much debate between my brother and i about how and where to bolt it up. i tihnk we simi agreeded on one. i want something that isnt going to give into the boost pressures/rod tension when opening the WG... the intercooler piping is to shortly follow. i guess ill post more pics when i get to it. hopefully i will be done tomorrow. what color to powder coat? i was thinking black wrinkle coat... any suggestion on this. keep in mind my celica is all silver, black interior with silver pieces in there. celica still resembles the "stock" look to an untrained eye and id like to keep that about it.

you mount the wg in the same place as it was before. only difference is that now you dont have any bolt holes on the turbo to use, so you have to make a bracket that will bolt to the original holes on the turbo and then you bolt your wg to that.

I have made a bracket that I will be producing and selling soon that makes this a much simpler process, however, I need to check it on one more car before I put it into production. It's working great on my last 3SGTE swap, and it's going on the 3S swap that's in my shop right now. Once that one clears then I'll start putting them out.

Dr. Tweak, from my searching and seeing how others have made their brackets. i think i have something that will work just fine but my concern is my WG is different than what ive seen online. like on alltrac.net , datajon's (?) bracket bolts to the base of their WG, and on my WG there no bolt or screws that hold it on. just 4 welds.... i was looking at fastbirds in philly when we were at the meet but i really couldnt see how you made your bracket thou. its such a tight location, keeping tension on the rod, clearing water lines... ah! hopefully tomorrow ill have something fabbed up for it. than off to the powder coat place! cannot wait to get it all together.

Well show us a pic of your wastegate actuator and we'll tell you. I think you have the same one, it's actually welded to a bracket which has like two holes with nuts welded onto them.

Don't forget.
Some folks [like me] have the Supra CT26, in which case the holes and actuator are different.

yea thats what i have. im debating if i should put my pipes on and run it or just take them to the powder coating... i guess ill run them for a week to make sure im happy with them. next in line is my 3' intake! im going to start that wednesday i believe. i found a ton (well i already knew about them) of fabratation items (www.virbrantperformance.com) and i have a dealer locally. ive used their tbolt, piping, couplers and they have a vac. T for custom intakes.

ill be back with some pictures of my FMIC on and together and my WG bracket.

2nd gen 3s with the CT26 clocked down! i went from the turbo to the driver side with the piping. Greddy type S BOV finally installed. everything i could got welded, the rest is sealed up with 4ply silcone couplers and SS t-bolt clamps. and the final touch, an ATS Racing throttle body inlet. enjoy the pictures!

nice job. i like the route you took with the piping. makes sense. now just get some exhaust heat wrap and wrap that whole straight section that goes to the throttle body, and youll have a perfect setup.

i really didnt want wrap the ic piping but that section gets so hot i will have to.. im still boiling my coolant for some reason aswell. i dunno if the heat is the cause or what? im going to do an 50/50 and make sure i bleed it well enough. it doesnt boil often but it shouldnt do it at all IMO. pulls much harder than before, awesome throttle response. im starting to feel bad for my tires! laugh.gif

Water Wetter, Distilled Water and some FW-15 (ford part number) corrosion inhibitor with molydisilicate.

I have personally tested this in a Mercedes V-12 twin turbo diesel. Dropped head temps 45 degress at the same ambiant temperatures.

i noticed you have those aftermarket fans on there. you sure they are up to the job and working correctly?

what were your compression test numbers?

yes the fans are going the correct direction. i do not recall the exact numbers but i know they move a ton more air (in CFM) than the factory fans do. yes they are mounted on the AC condenser but ive had them like that sense my pre 7afte days soo i dunno. where do the other swappers have fans? maybe i need another on the other side, ill run 3 lol. i wont mind that. i love having them hidden in the front there. soooo much easier to with on the motor with them gone. ive never done a compression but i wouldnt think i have a headgasket problem. at least not yet... got a how to for a compression test???

you should have said something at the meet. i had a comp tester with me and we could have done it on the spot. its a good idea to do after a swap, just to know what kind of shape your motor is in.

here is a how to
