Anyways, I went to the audio store to upgrade my system. I used to run 2 12" JL Audio W1v1 subs on a ported band pass box. I gotta tell you, that hit hard. I had to get rid of it because of trunk space and weight. I bought a small single ported box to just run one of the subs. It wasn't as strong but it was good enough, I got better gas mileage. Now I wanted a better one so my options were a JL W1v2 12" or a Rockford Punch 2 almost the same price for either one. Then they showed me the 12" W3v3 and it sounded real good so I paid double to get it. I installed it when I got home and to my surprise I did not think it would pound a significant difference. I only run only 8 gauge power wires and small speaker wires (donno if I upgrade if it'll be stronger). I had to set my bass settings low on everything and even downtune my amp. The audio store said my 250-300 watt JL Audio amp was a perfect match for the W3. My friends have 600-1000 watt systems and I am not impressed. I told them my 250 watt system was better compared to how much they had to output in order to get their sound. But honestly, I've been a JL fan for a longtime and its worth it. It is bang for your buck, performance and price, while keeping your system at low wattage. Your alternator will thank you. This is my review for the W3V3 12" Subs. No regrets at all. What do you guys think?

I plan on getting a JL 12W7 in the JL H.O.Box pushed by a JL 1000/1 block or the A1800. Along with battery, head unit, alternator and cabin speakers pretty much a complete audio overhaul. That is of course after I sell my first born and double check the measurements of thier box to see if itll fit in my hatch otherwise I might drop to the 10inch. Because I know itll pound like nobodys buisness.

My only prob with JL is that the retail markups are ridiculous. But you are paying for quality and if its installed by a certified dealer it only gets better with that warranty.

I have had JL's for years...they are great subs. You don't need that much power like those 600 watts system like your friends because JL's are desgined to be more efficent with less power. I have two JL's 10 w1's in sealed box in my trunk. It hits harder then most of my friends system that they spent more money on. Also Im only running a single 400w alpine amp too both of them and i have to keep it all the way down kindasad.gif
