yeah so, im on the highway and i gun it and the car pulls so friggen hard.
then i look down at my boost guage and the needle is hitting the pin just past the 20 psi mark.
so im like WTF! and let off the gas, i get off the highway and pull up to a light so i can go across the street into
a parking lot to pop the hood and check whats going on. at the light i hear nasty loud sounds, hard to discribe, sounded like it was coming from the block. so i pop the hood and check it out, apparently my boost controller line cracked off. so i was running full max boost it was nuts. so i fixed the line by cutting the crackeded part off just so i can get to work. (i fixed it later with brand new fuel line rubber, good stuff) start the car back up and i hear that sound again. turns out i blew the gasket between the turbo and the manifold right out. probly a good thing since it was less air spooling the turbo already at 20 psi. but w/e the engine seems fine no noise other than the exhaust leak. and the funny thing is the car was nuts at 20psi now i want that power all the time lol.
so yeah. this only makes me want to put a larger turbo on... (with supporting mods, yes i know everything i need to do, not just slap a turbo on) yeah.... end of story.

You want power but have no money. That's a problem.

Cheap. Reliable. Fast. Pick two.

i run mine at 1bar aka 14.5 psi daily. its a lot of fun smile.gif

itchy, you cant just put any cheap hose on the turbo/wg lines. its a very critical connection and you have to use quality stuff. you should probably look into making a fcd too, so that this wont happen again.

it was the stock rubber line that cracked must have been close to 13yrs old (hard to imagine). the stuff i put on is thick and nylon re-enforced smile.gif
yeah i left it at 17 psi now. im replacing the tiny pea shotter ct26 this winter along with a few other goodies this winter.
woo woo. hx35w, 550's, rom tune (dual setting one for race gas and highe boost) ,a dual mbc for two diffent boost lvles for two different octane ratings
and lastly the best thing lol NEW IC piping no more old rusted pipes. gunna buy some nice aluminum pipes, with t'bolts.
every winter the celica comes off the road and goes back on faster and better.
Finally i'm out of school a have a good paying job doing graphic design for a beer distributing company, I can afford good parts now lol biggrin.gif
i think the whole (the ct26 blows nothing but hot air) thing above 15psi doesnt really matter with a huge pressure drop and big fmic
i feel absolutly NO hesistation like before with my small front mount. even with a jdm ecu no knock at all at 17psi. The new Fmic helped so much.
