brake upgrade for the swap? Options

well since im really looking into getting this swap done fairly soon, ive also kind of developed a concern for braking issues... understandable, since im going to be driving faster, im probably going to want to stop faster as well, but the more and more i think about it... im not really planning on just flooring it alla round town... i mean, so is it really necessary??? i mean, at least for a good while now, i cant be speeding anymore since texas instated the point system, where it counted certain priors from years ago, i have exceeded that point and i cant get into anymore trouble... its just that id be getting to that point a lot faster, so really is the brake upgrade that much of a necessity that i should look into, the most id think is just upgrade the pads, and maybe rotor and calipers later, or maybe discs all the way around, or would you reccomend more?

is it neccesary? No... because even if you're gonna have a more powerful engine, and accelerate faster... you're not... or shouldn't be going all out faster than you did previously... at least not ALL the time. Get it? Going 80mph (or 100mph) with a 7AFE is the same as with a 3SGTE... except the 3SGTE will get there quicker. Slowing down from those speeds is the same between the two engines. Heheheh...

Unless of course you plan on driving the sh!t out of your car after its swapped...

well alot of people drive the $hit out of the car after the swap.. I know i would...LOL I had a friend (turbo H22 prelude) after we turboed his car we took it down the street fast!!! tryed to stop a liltle after 3RD & BOOM in to a fence on the other side of the fence in someones lot... yeah we went out & got big rotor, stock caliper & braket (powerslot kit) the car stopping disstance was alot better....

it'll be a much more enjoyable vehicle with better brakes and better suspenion.

would the stainless steel braided lines be enough of an upgrade for stock setup with a turbo?

stock GT brakes work just fine with the swap. probably wouldnt be a bad idea to change to brand new rotors and some nice ceramic pads, if your looking for some better stopping power.

not sure now well the ST would brake since its got drums in the back. most people swap them over to the gt brakes anyway.

beyond that, you can look into big brake kits, but those cost a fair bit of money and arent really a must.

the best bang 4 your buck is the 2pot st165 calipers...the big brake is good if you can pay for it...

cant you use the ST185 calipers?
