We're replacing the headers on my friends eclipse, when, we go to the downpipe and the bolts were so rusted and nasty that they wouldnt come off. His neighbor came over with a saw and couldnt help us. what can we do, to remove the bolts. Hes willing to even remove the Cat.Conv if neccessary.

try grinding the head off the bolt and knocking it through with a punch, impact tools, heat, it has only one header.

what year and model? i know my way around some of the elcipses. infact i have the stock DP and manifold from a 2.4L 2000 year.

on my car, i used an impact with an extension to get the DP to manifold bolts loose, boy did i need it! the DP to cat bolts had to be ground out tho, no way they were coming loose!

spray the bolts with pb blaster and let it sit overnight. they'll come off.
