I was looking at a 3rd gen mr2 steering for my car because my air bags were blown when I bought the car. Instead of getting the bags i would rather get a cooler wheel. I like the three spoke non airbag mr2 wheel. Does anyone know if it would fit my car?

I'm not sure if it fits, but remember, it's illegal to removed your airbags. ( if they are blown they should be replaced ) in the case that you still wanna go with a non airbag steering wheel why don't you get a momo wheel I've seen some that look real nice.

that law applys to different areas/states/provinces/countries. In Ontario, its not recomended but not illegal. But at the same time cops can contact your insurance companie and they can uninsure you.

I dont think its illegal depending on the year of the car. Correct me if im wrong but i think cars before a certain year, i think 1997 are not required to have air bags. Double check though i might be wrong. |

I think the law is that if your car came with a factory airbag, it is illegal to remove it.

In the UK it's fine to remove an airbag as long as u take all the wiring out or it will fail the yearly MOT as not working.
I have a non airbag 3 spoke wheel that came standard & i'm sure it's the same as the MR2 -------------------- My Celica Is Now For Sale

Part of the reason for that is airbags (especially in newer cars) are designed to work with the seatbelt system, so a seatbelt may not adequately restrain you without an airbag.
