My reason is cause i have never had a nice car in the 4 years i have had my license. When i was younger i would always look at nice cars and say "One day, i'll own a nice car like that"
Well, that time is now and i love it. -------------------- Jared Harwell

Me doing research and doing stuff to my car keeps me out of trouble. Simple as that. If it wasn't that it would be something else like cooking, travelling etc. The car or any car is a money pit. I should take up a hobbie that doesn't cost me the earth to do.

I used to drive a crap Corsica and then my chick dumped me, so I decided why not have my midlife crisis when I'm 18? I was shopping around for a cool import, and found the 97 Celica GT Convertible on sale for like 13 grand. Not bad cause at the time the blue book had it at about 17k. It was in really good condition so I decided to start fixing it up... once I get the money. lol. Plus my friend's step dad has this awesome MOMOed out Porsche 911 which inspired me to start styling my car.

When I first posted I didn't really understand what K2 was asking, But now I see what you all and he was talking about. I just like it when people tell me that I have a nice car. When I went back to school this past fall my RA asked my if that we my Black car out there. I told him yes it was and he was like its very nice. Then I had an old man in a Yellow Xtera tell me that he liked my yellow interior and asked how i did it. I cant wait till I get my car repainted and the kit put on, then Im gona take her to a couple of shows. Personally I just want her to look different than whats out there.

What it's about for me is trying to make my car that bit more individual without going too extreme. Having said that, even a completely standard Celica is very different and distinctive compared to most cars around today

I like making everything around me to my liking. Like how my room is designed, comp is set up, etc. I've also got a few friends that are modding with me so i'm not alone, and we can cruise together. The looks and things are nice, when I get done with my car I want people that are not into modding cars to see that its not always all flashy and ugly, and that they can be made to look many times better than they were originally. This is why i've chosen to take the top route to modding my car, not skimping on anything cheap for this.

As far as exterior styling goes, I make my car look better simply so that it stands out more. It's getting there slowly but surely, and by the time I'm driving it again(mid February) it'll hopefully be lowered 1.5" and have some 17 or 18 inch rims on it. I love all of the attention that my car gets everywhere I go, except when it makes people jealous and they key my car.

i do this, cause my car is paid for. also, toyota is an awesome name in the automotive world, and i love sportin it. as far as why a 6th gen celica...as i said, the car is paid for, and i love the looks of it. it will be as fast as it looks too. and the handling is the best out there. but um..really..that's about it..it's just a love for the car and the name that is behind it. that and being a little different, and actually having to work for what you have. that's really all i can think of for now...

I posted earlier but i have something else to add, i not only do it because i can. i also love working on my car, it gives me a joy that nothing else does. it also in my blood, my father is a mechanic and so was my grandfather. i also have 2 uncles that are also mechanics so you can say that i grow up in an auto shop. when i was younger the last thing that i wanted to do was work on car. i just wanted to be my own person and not be compared to my father. but i came to find out the i trully love working on cars and what better car to work on then mine.
