ok, my car was just recently turbo'd, and today i took it out and there is white smoke coming off the manifold, it almost looks like its leaking out of the manifold,,,, also when i let off the pedal from heavy acceleration a big puff of white smoke pours out the exauhst what would be causing this???

how do i fix that?

i'v been out driving it around more now and the smoke its starting to clear up, almost no smoke now? i think it could just have been burning off excess oil, cause we had a big oil leak the other day.

It sounds like coolant to me too. A big oil leak would not result in smoke coming out the exhuast, it would just burn off and smoke in the engine bay. If it is a headgasket leak, then the way you would fix it is to get a new headgasket and have some fun smile.gif. But i would run more tests first to see if it is actually the headgasket that is the problem. You could try compression testing your engine to see if theres a leak.

did you wash your engine after the oil leak , that could be it tongue.gif also are your sure it is white and not a light blue like oil because if you did not use a reducer your turbo could leak oil in to the exhaust when you boost wink.gif i would do a comp, test to rule out a headgasket, also check the plugs if it is burning water you will see it on a plug

Could be oil in your exhaust from your turbo, burning oil in your exhaust is white.

um no i had to drive it back home from johns without a restrictor, cause the restrictor i had, broke off so we just used a normal brass fitting, so im pretty sure it was puing oil into the exauhst frown.gif i finaly got the smoke to stop today, but as soon as it stoped the oil feed line came off again and oil went everywhere once agian frown.gif

you can make your own restrictor. just fill a brass fitting with solder then drilll a hole though thats smaller.

what the heck are you using for an oil feed line that keeps coming off?

use a fitting with a lip in it, and clean the brass with acid flux so the solder bonds to it.

how come the oil feed keeps coming loose? can you get some pics of whats happening?

that happend to me also but mine was the turbo housing popped in to it after a real hard launch and the motor flexed a little more than i figured , new motor mounts and a new desinged manifold works now and i dont have anything within 3/4 of a inch to the radiator biggrin.gif wink.gif
