i've gone back and forth on whether or not i want to sell this, because i would like to keep it as a second car, but there's also a cheap 4th gen celica nearby, and since my first car was a 4th gen very much like it...well, i'd like to pick it up.

first off, here are the pics i have (can get more if someone's interested. the wheels shown are now gone, i sold them with my last alltrac.) http://rides.webshots.com/album/549021142aoOeyn

the car does go through some oil. that's the main issue. it has done so since i bought it in april of '05 at 104k. it hasn't gotten worse, it hasn't gotten better...i just check the oil every week or two, and fill after it needs some more. right now it's been around 900 miles since i changed the oil, and it's gone through a little over a 1/4 quart. i used thicker oil this time, but its been running fine on it, and using a little less oil i think.

the clutch doesn't enjoy being treated harshly...it will slip if you try to beat it. but it's driving fine. again, the clutch has been the same since i bought it, so i've put 23k miles on it, and it still holds fine as long as it's not being dropped at red lights (in that case it may slip for a day or so, then deglaze, and be back to normal)

exterior is white, needs a good clay bar and waxing treatment, and has some very slight surface rust on the edge of the back wheelwell. nothing very bad at all. there's a crack on the pass. side of the windshield. been there since i bought it...i really don't noticed it, so i don't care about it. but figured it should be mentioned.

tranny shifts great, very smooth and direct. brakes are fine, the interior is black and in really good shape, stock cd/cass. stereo sounds good, power windows/locks, cruise, a/c works great, sun/moonroof. i'm not sure about the suspension. it always seemed fine to me, but the ride has been a little more harse since i bought the new tires. i'm guessing its more the tires than the suspension though. it has a new starter, and a new battery. the battery i replaced in hopes of it not being the starter...but it was the starter. so i put a new one in. this is the ONLY part i've had to replace since i bought it.

all things said, i'll miss this car. i'd been considering eventually putting in a 20v 4age, but my heart lies with alltracs, and i'm trying to get one again. if i do, the wheels/tires that are currently on this car will be switched to the alltrac, so this will have whatever is on the alltrac when i buy it...unless i like them better than the 7th gen wheels i have...and the brand new yokohama avid v4s tires i just had put on.

got your pm. a little news since i pm'd you back. i also posted it on craigslist at a little higher (this would be the celica community price) i've gotten a few emails from there, one guy is about 10 minutes away and has cash and wants to see it as soon as he can. that being said, if he wants it, i'll have to go with him, since it's 500 bucks more.

thanks guys for the interest. i've had a few more people on craigslist trying for it. they may have to bid it out between themselves...or maybe neither will want it after they come. i don't know, at any rate, i'll keep you posted.

if it turns out i have to sell it with the wheels and tires that are currently on it, the asking price will be higher. i wasn't expecting to have so many people wanting to come immediately! but thanks to all!

well, here's how things stand right now, i'm going to go ahead and include the 7th gen wheels, and the tires, but along with them the price goes to the 2k i had it listed for on craigslist. i told a few of them i wanted 2200 with them, but 2k is fine.

well, as of right now, the local lady will be buying it friday morning. i'm trying to put her off to the idea so i can sell it to RbrtNdrws and keep it in the celica community. but either way, it's pretty much sold to one or the other i'd expect.
