i am not the most technical person really but my mechanic did it

http://www.celicatech.com/forums/showthrea...light=converted
this explains how it was done my mechanic did it about 95% exact to this(has made mnor changes or adjustments)
also why would i lose hp wouldny going from4wd to fwd result in an increase of horsepower as their will be less drivetrain loss?
anyway anyone knows which websites sell cusco lsd's for a good price is see prices like 700 and 800
is this reasonable

700-800 is reasonable.

I got my 95 JDM MR2 LSD for 400 shipped from Japan.. but then I spent another 400 on mr2 lsd inner axles and 140 for alltrac outters..

As to losing horsepower... Your transmission doesn't make horsepower... *sigh*

just a question here. I know why you would want LSD, but why do you want it if it really isn't nessessary unless you push at least 275 to the wheels ? The only reason I see that anyone would want an e153 is because of the taller gears. In what situation would LSD be benifical to you with these cars ?

also, is LSD even nessessary if you have that much hp ? won't your torque spin the wheels no matter what in high RPM situations ?

I've seen GT (s54 and s53 <-5th gens I think) and 3sge (?) trannys spin both wheels and leave rubber...what would make having LSD so much better ? IMO if anything, the axles are what you should be worried about.

Ok.. an LSD is beneficial in everything.. it gives you more traction so you get better launches.. u can rev higher when you launch and not spin as much.. you don't get torque steer.. why would you want your tire to spin when you hit torque steer power? What if the road is wet and you hit the throttle? What if you are cornering and the road is wet and you have 1 wheel spinning and 3 going along for the ride?

An LSD gives you better traction in all situations.. It's the closest we can get to AWD with out having either a 5th gen alltrac or importing a 6gc alltrac or spending massive cash and time converting a 6gc to awd..

And no.. an LSD isn't only beneficial fi you are pushing this magical 275whp.. I got torque steer in my 5gc 5sfe piece of ****.. I got nasty torque steer in my old 89 corolla 1.6l 4af automatic coupe after I did engine mods...

ok I understand better now, thank you thumbsup.gif

basicly for reducing/eliminating torque steer and for wet conditions.

Not just for wet conditions but for any condition at all.. It's more traction.
