Looks like you have a good forum here and I just wanted to say hello.
I've been doing some searching and back reading here the past week or so and decided to finally join up. My wife bought a used 1999 GT automatic hatchback a few months back so I've been doing a little maintenance research. I currently own a 1996 Honda Civic hatchback. I look forward to researching here further! Bo |

IMO, 99' is the final, and greatest year of the Celica.

Sadly, no. The only pictures I have of either of our cars are from when mine was merged into a couple years back and when the passenger side door glass was broken on the Celica just a month after we got it...
I'll see if I can dig them up anyway and post the pic of the Celica. EDIT: I've put a couple of the pics from the break-in in my profile. This post has been edited by 99GTauto: Nov 12, 2006 - 11:10 AM |

Who called it. I called it. There are an increasing number of members on here who are husbands of a wife that actually owns and drives the celica. (If all those prepositions actually make sense...) Lets see some pics. 1999's are very hard to come by and usually still in like new condition. Sadly, awhile back there were like 2 or 3 members with 99's on this site that got in wrecks.

Even though it's my wife's car I find that I like it a lot more than I thought I would. Under the right circumstances I would even trade out my Honda for another 6th gen Celica silly as that might sound.
I'll take it on a short photo shoot soon but the rainy season has just started here in Sacramento so we'll see what happens. That's too bad to hear about a couple other 99's getting banged up. I have a theory that pretty as the 6th gen is, it's a lightning rod of pain. Ours had the passenger window broken after just a month and about every other 6th gen I see in Sacramento has some kind of body damage. The late 90's Celica is a car my wife had wanted for a while so we hunted for about half a year before getting this one. Ours has a body flaw I saw in a few others... the front bumper / nose piece seems to be pulling away from the front fender on the passenger side. I've started to assume this isn't uncommon. Is there an easy way to correct this? |

maybe take off the mud guard and tighten up the three bolts that connect the fender to the bumer cover. Check the "removing the front bumper" how to for more detail. The top bolt is a biatch. You never know if maybe the front bumper has been takin off in the past and those bolts weren't tightened down all the way, and now they have rattled a bit loose. Its worth a shot and wont take more then 15 minutes.
