Today (November, 16th) is film premiere of Casino Royale here. Can't wait see it... Anyone here Bond's movies fan? And what do you think about that last one?

EDIT - about 7hts later...:
Just got back from cinema and I would like to share with some fresh notes.
- It's not Bond movie at all (just main actor is called Bond)
- everything is true (Craig is good actor, no gadgets at all, whole movie is raw, etc.)
- be prepare for harder action and more "static" parts of the film (I mean, film is not balanced like other Bond's movies)
- I just don't believe many women should flirt with that man...

that's all for now...

EDIT II - after another 12hrs...:
Hmmm... maybe I got a point of makers... It's not like common bond movie because he just is not like Bond yet! That character is involving just now and 2nd Bond with Craig will look more like "real" bond movie than Casino Royale looks.

I want to see the car. biggrin.gif its supposed to be an Aston Martin DBS, like a cross between the DB9 (road) and the DBR9 (race)

my favorite Bond car is the AM V8. I think its from "The Living Daylights" in '87 wink.gif

I am a huge bond fan..i can not wait for this..HOWEVER IM SKEPTICAL...idk how well craig is going to do, because he doesn't fit the profile of bond imo. But despite that, the critics gave him wonderful reviews, so who knows. I am also dissapointed in the fact that I heard there wasn't any gadgets in this film...YOU CANT HAVE A BOND MOVIE W/O GADGETS...and i also agree that Pierce Brosnan was the best bond to date with good old Sean coming in at a close second

Agree to the letter. I love "The Living Daylights" particularly because action takes place in Czechoslovakia too biggrin.gif.

i love bond. don't think i'll be a fan of the new guy though. definitely doesn't look the part. he's too old, especially for a movie about how bond became 007. i'll see it eventually just cuz its james bond.

edit: i heard craig is only doing this one bond film. so who do you guys think should be the next bond?

golden-eye was a fantastic flick, but the others with brosnan were just ok, I enjoyed the villans in the older sean connery(sp?) bond films. I'd place brosnan in second place.

since this movie is a remake of an old one, hopefully we'll see a new actor for any future movies

this bond film isn't a remake of an old bond film...this is the first story ian flemmings wrote with the james bond character. This came before Dr. NO...so this is a completely new movie from a story that is older then any bond film to date

The new Bond, I thought was pretty good. Nothing like the older ones though. I still love the torture scene with the itch.

There was an non-EON production of Casino Royale in I think 1967? As it is a non-EON production, it is not counted as an OFFICIAL bond movie. The same goes for Never Say Never Again in 1983 which starred Sean Connery. Both these movies do not have the distinct gun barrel beginning and signature music and what not.

There is Bond 22 already in production and its already starring Daniel Craig.

Also, this guy is NOT too old. You have to realize none of the Bond movies are sequels or prequels. Simply different stories. Brosnan was younger than both Connery and Roger Moore of whom were both better than Brosnan but alot of you probably haven't been around long enough to see all the Bond films.

Age doesnt matter, Im 18 and ive seen all of them. Im a huge Bond fan. While I missed the gadgets, I thought it was still really good. It broke the normal mold for Bond movies which I kinda liked.

Just a few comments smile.gif

1. True, there is another one Casino Royale (IMDB), but this film is more parody of bond movies, not "normal" bond movie so Casino Royale (2006) is not remake... It's absolutely different movie, just with same title.

2. Never say never again is different story. It's not parody of Bond at all! It's "serious" movie (IMDB), so I couldn't compare it with Casino Royale (1967) movie case.

3. I don't care about age of Craig (remenber A View to a Kill, Moore was 58 old there!), I care about other things kindasad.gif

4. Since Bond 22 (IMDB) will not be remake (I read somewhere it should be remake of Goldfinger) but "continuing on from the events of Casino Royale" movie, I'm looking forward to see it. Cuz I believe more and more in my "second edit feeling" of my first post:

I'm looking foward to seeing this movie, Bond is the quintessential "cool" figure of all time IMO, and I think he'll be able to pull it off well for a few movies. I absolutely love old Bond movies so hopefully there'll be no disappointments here.

yeah, i saw it friday night. i actully thought it was pretty good. despite the fact that i don't like the new bond. but it was pretty intense at times. and that "torture" scene was hilarious.
