so i have a 1995 gt cali emssion 5sfe and i need to get a new ecu becuase i did the auto to manual swap. now i was just wondering if there are 2 different ecu's made for this motor that year . meaning is there a cali ecu for manuals, and a non cali ecu or are they interchangable . i think there are 2 different one but i just want to make sure any info would be awsome

You should be able to use the auto ecu with the manual transmission; have you tried it?

theres a way to re-wire your existing auto ECU, I'm just not sure how.
I thought all 94-95's were Cali emissions... maybe someone else can confirm that or not but in that case as long as its OBD1 it should work fine. I used a 96 ECU on my 97, no problems as of almost 4 months later ![]() -------------------- |

yes there are the cali and non cali spec 94-95 GTs and the 94-95s ECUs have the same pinouts.
if you did an A/T to M/T trans swap then the only prob you should have is the O/D light staying on in the dash correct ? solution - pull the bulb ![]() or usually you can find some M/T GT ECUs on ebay that would be perfect for your swap. Also I have a 94 non cali M/T ECU sitting here if you want it (+5 hp with the ECU swap:)) -------------------- |
