i have a 94 celica gt and i want to do somthing on my own.. Somthing of course custom as some say built out of mdf 3/4 inch. I want to have atleast 2 or 3 12s or even 2 15's. My seats are taken out so i have so much room what would be my best option to take up a good bit of space but also look good as well?
Ideas needed for this one!! |

off the top of my head,
power tools needed for a simple mdf box: Drill - for pilot holes Jigsaw ( mounting holes) Circular saw (straight cuts) - alternative is get a cabinet maker shop to do required cuts misc: clamps wood glue wood screws sealant(inside edges) as for looking good, no idea really. you will just end up with a square or rectangular box. Probably use some thinner mdf and make yourself covers that are flush with the trim etc. Carpet maybe or vinyl the box. |

yea but like i have all that space i want more of like when you look into the back of my car from my back hatch it to be like all straight and you just see the tops of speakers.. i would have to make 3 sections for each speaker like i want somthing that will be nice and clean.. somthing outside the box parsay? im tired of those regular speaker boxes or if you want to get "fancy" a bandbass box(Sarcasm..lol)
I really need some ideas as for the speakers i want somthing on the cheaper side but somthing with some good knock.. need ideas for that as well!! What about fiberglassing should that be out of the option for someone with mediocre experience in fiberglassing? |

All I can say is start researching. See other finished installs, read tutorials etc etc . There is a reason why caraudio shops charge a lot for installs because it takes a lot of work. Just be prepared for costs and time involved.
elitecaraudio forums diymobileaudio forums carsound fiberglass forums simple way is just to build a normal box and then like I said, do a top piece which covers everything and is flush with the trim. Easier said than done with all the curves. fiberglassing is ok but can get messy and troublesome. quite easy to screw it up too , just needs practice. Anyway, visit car audio forums if you want better car audio advice or visit your local shop. You also really want subwoofers in a box.... unless you are doing a proper ib install. Does anyone know anything about the 12 inch pioneers? there blue/ 800 watts per? What about amps? can i use 3 amps as well and if so would i be able to hook my front door speakers up to my amp even though a sub would be hooked up? |
