Well a while back I posted saying that I had all my doors open (including hatch) and I accidently hit the button on my alarm thing and it locked the doors, except this time the blinking LED in my dash to show it is armed was a solid red light. and has been ever since. It still would lock the doors and all, so I saw no reason to worry, except now I have found that my alarm does not work at all. I opened the hatch and got something out of it, closed it, and then went to get in and my door was locked. All this time I though my alarm still worked, but now it is only keyless entry. I think a fuse might have blown, but I don't know where that fuse would be, because it was all installed by the previous owner.

Maybe a fuse? or do I need a new alarm?

If your keyless entry still works then I wouldn't think that it's a fuse. I'd find the alarm and check the wiring.

sounds like all it needs is a reset, just pull the connecter off for a bit, or if it has a reset jumper inside you can do it that way. (some have em, its just a standard circut board jumper. swap it over and it resets)

doubt its a fuse if it still works to unlock the doors, werid that setting it with the doors open did anything, my celicas just chirped at me and showed an open door (was a 2 way pager) did not set the alarm if something was open.

i've got the same problem with my car. when ever i lock the doors it would chirp once and three times when i unlocked the doors. now nothing happens except for the blinking of the lights. i'll try and see if i can reset the thing when my car comes back from the shop

this may just solve my problem biggrin.gif TY

Well I'm not quite sure where the brains of the alarm is, actually. I suppose I will get up under the dash on Wednesday and see what I can find. It wouldn't be in the engine compartment would it?

95celicast it's sounds like you may be in valet mode.

try the same thing I recomended to chandy1986. open a door and press arm disarm arm. If the light goes from solid red to off the alarm was in valet and now it's not. should work fine.

Still solid red light. Still no alarm.

Solid red is valet mode. Do you know if there is a valet switch somewhere in the car? Also you can try pulling the battery for a while and see if the brain will reset. Hopefully you don't have a battery backup.

Unplugging the battery does nothing. I had the battery out last weekend and it is still solid red.
