a dealership should have a lug nut extractor tool to get it out or you could purchase one from snap on or something.

if you dont want to buy a tool like that there is a set that you can get at advance auto or a place like that were its like a 6 star almost like an allen key only big!! if you want most of the time this works i know a few people that had that problem. what they did was put the one that is closest to fitting but it has to be a little bigger!! you HAMMER it in to the lugnut as much as you can it will forge a grip point in which the tool will be able to grip into the metal. well just turn the tool and it should come off!! Make sure you hammer it in there pretty good though

wouldn't hammering it cause it to smash the threads in??

also what is a bolt extractor?? is that to take out the actualy bolt? or the nut that is stuck on there?

its an inward one,, and the threads are not stripped!!! the nut is literealy in 2 pieces, it twited in half, leaving the round base in side the rim.

The wheel stud can be easily replaced so dont worry too much about it. Not too sure how you can get the remaining nut out though...

This is what happened to mine :

Just hammer the bolt out using a screwdriver/chizzle. You might have to hammer a knotch in it first for something to work with. It takes awhile, but there is really no other way of going about it, unless you want to drill it out. If you drill it, you'll have to tap a new hole.

Were you the last one to put those lugs on? If it was someone else they may have used loctite. It sounds retarded but it happened to my buddy on his accord. He wound up having to take it to a shop where they cut the lug bolt clean off, and then had to install a new lug bolt. It would suck if it had to go that far. This sounds wierd but I hope, in this case, that it was just a ****ty nut.

You all make it to difficult!! smile.gif Just welding a nut on top of it is the easy way. Same thing if you last your key for the nut locks on your wheels. All garage do it like this.

I think some people are not understanding you here...

The bolt has broken inside his rim, your rim cannot come out right? Because all the thread are munched up. That last bolt is holding the rims to the hub.

The only way now is to drill it out, be careful not damaging the rim, if you damage the stud, you can still roll on 4 studs until you can get it fixed.

I would suggest getting new bolts too...you dont want that to happen again. A guy changing tire here told me he seen those types of bolt break often..the metal is so thin on the outside, just a little overtorquing is enough to break them.

Pretty much I would take it to a shop. They will have the tools to get the leftover nut and the stud out. Also I would get new lug nuts because those are pretty bad about breaking and they aren't as safe as claimed. Just get a regular set with a locking nut.
