ok... so first off ive read the stickies second is my current set up is as follows: kyb gr2's w/ eibach sportlines

my current set up isnt cutting it. the car at high speeds doesnt preform well when a hump is hit, the set up is also to soft for hard cornering, and so on.

im thinking about getting coil overs that r fully adjustable so i can play with stiffness and ride height.

i know tein makes a set up for a grand an a half, but what else is out there that will give my car really killer handling in the corners and on the freeway when going fast.

im also going to get thicker sway bars but am unsure which ones are good. any advice.

strut bars for the front and rear are waiting for install. i have the stock bar with a cusco 2 pnt for the front and a gt4 2 pnt for the rear.

thanks a bunch

ps the 3s is doing well.... from a 30 mph roll ive out ran a wrx wagon running 21 psi, stock sti, g35, z350, new gti w/ chip and exahust, many v8's, and a 3.5 camry.

the wagon and gti are my coworkers and it was tonight on the freeway that i realized how much my current suspension set up sucks.

I have GR-2's and Ground Control Coilovers. I think my setup kicks as$. Corners aren't soft at all, its a very tight feel and contrary to belief the coilovers don't give my car a bouncy feel to it, it is quite firm on the road, but not so firm that I feel every crack in the road. I can put my hands on the hatch and try to push the back end down, but it doesn't budge. Best 500 bucks I've ever spent. Now I only need some sway bars...

I think all you need are sway bars and get your strut bars installed.

I have almost the same set-up your going for and corners are lovely.

go with susp. tech sway bars I have mine and I love them, just make sure you get the second version of them as the first one rubthe undercarriage a little.

try some Suspension Techniques sway bars, get your strut bars on if thats still not good enough then maybe some fully adjustable shocks or a full coilover kit.. tein's would be my choice because most other options aren't as adjustable.

Craig you have got to take me for a ride in that beast!

Hey snapshotgt, quick question pertaining to this thread:
Which end links did you get from Twosrus? and why did you get them?

I got my SS from www.showstoppersusa.com they are in monrovia if you want to go pick them up yourself. Ask for Rocky. Also, coming from someone who has previously owned ground controls with gr2's and now tein SS... Huge! difference. Night and Day. It is very streetable on the softest setting, but it feels very sporty at the same time. Stiffen it up a bit and you get a better feel of the car. I love the set up and would never go back. I think i paid 1160 for mine, give or take. If you have the money... do it, it is well worth it.

I bought the st185 ones. I can confirm that others have used st185 rears, and they work perfectly .. I'm going to be the first one to try the st185 fronts as well -- i don't see why they would not work, but we'll see. Keep an eye on that other thread for info.

I got them b/c when putting on my sway bars, saw my rear sway links were busted. Also, it is a good upgrade that will never need replacing unlike oem ones. These are awesome "rally grade" links.

The best setup imo
would be

ground control coilover kit with custom spring rates (research into spring rates is needed)
with Koni Yellow Adjustables with custom valving
Sway bars + endlinks

should give u one heck of a beast

Plyr has the idea of suspension setup. Research on how stiff you want those springs, I was going for 375/450 in my ST for autocrossing.. stiffer rear will help with rotation during turns. For better rotation.. add a rear swaybar, Suspension Tech will be fine.. a bigger front can be added.. but remember they will induce more understeer

Revalved Koni FTW.. just grab a set of blown konis.. send it to a shop and get it custom valved.. again research..
